Why are Magician of Chaos & Illusion of Chaos (a minor combo) the Face of the Group,
while Dragoon and Desirae serve as the Center (main combo) of the deck?

💬 As someone who’s been playing Yugi for over 10 years,
these two — Magician of Chaos & Illusion of Chaos — hold deep emotional value for me.
They’ve never been properly supported by Konami the way they deserve.
Which means... yes, the combo is clunky, bricky, and slow.

But despite that, I still deeply love them both
So I wanted to give them a chance to shine —
by building a deck where Dragoon and Desirae carry the game as the strong Centre,
so that the two beloved ones can finally have their spotlight on the Meta stage.

So yes — Magician of Chaos can’t be your main combo.
Let’s be real — y’all already know that 😂
But when they’re backed by a strong enough Centre,
they can finally step into the light.

Because if you try to play the deck you love without a strong Centre…
well honey — it won’t shine…

As someone who got into Yugioh because of Dark Magician,
I have to say — Konami releasing Dragoon was a blessing for this archetype.
Without Dragoon, DM wouldn’t even dream of entering Master Rank,
let alone carry Magician of Chaos & Illusion of Chaos along for the ride.

I used to resist mixing cards too.
I love Harpie Lady, right? I tried playing pure Harpie...
and guess what? I was stuck as hell.
Diamond 5. Diamond 4. Over and over. And yes — I was even running a Link 6 😅

Then I mixed in Tri-Brigade — and boom, Master Rank, Tier 1 ✨

So hey, play pure if that’s your vibe —
but don’t complain if you can’t rank up 💁‍♀️ hehe

SCREAMMMM!!!
Finally, Dark Magician Ritual has reached Master Rank Tier 1!!! 😭✨
After nearly 2 months of tuning and reworking combos, I feel like fainting.
This month I started at Platinum 5—normally I’d be proud just to hit Diamond,
but today, this baby made it to Master Rank Tier 1!!!

This is one of those "small" proud moments that feel huge—
Because to take something that everyone saw as worthless
And raise it up to shine proudly on the Meta stage—
That's something not everyone gets.

If you don’t get what this feeling is like, that’s okay.
Because I have been with this deck through thick and thin—
From the muddy bottom to the top of the Master Rank.

And doing this made me realize:
Sometimes, things we think are worthless…
May simply have never been given the right stage to shine.

It made me reflect on myself, too:
What else in my life have I overlooked?
What else have I labeled as “useless”…
Just because I never gave it a worthy spotlight,
Too busy thinking everything else out there was always better?

When the Dark Magician Ritual deck has been mostly relying on the main combo like Dragoon & Desirae,
this time, it’s Ritual combo’s turn to shine with a full board! 💥
It doesn’t show up often, but when it does—she SERVES, honey!

And when Magician of Chaos finally stepped into the spotlight,
I couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional.
She’s a card that most people overlook, thinking it’s useless in today’s Meta.
But me? I gave her a stage. I found a way to make her shine, even if it’s only now and then—she shows UP 💃✨

For this deck, I have to crown Magician of Chaos and Illusion of Chaos as the Face of the Group.
They may not be the core combo, but they represent something deeper—
They stand for the "impossible made possible."
They proved they can shine just as gloriously in the modern Master Rank, even amidst today’s Meta chaos. 💫

Surprise !! The Dark Magician Ritual deck has climbed higher Master Ranks. I was terribly worried of its capability but it exceeded my expectation. Lol. Thought it would have just survived only at Master Rank tier 5. I honestly admit that this deck does struggle sometimes despite janky hands unlike Voiceless Voice x Herald

8-Winstreak!!! Diamond to Master!! With Dark Magician Ritual Deck — OMG!!!

And finally, this phenomenon has happened again — bringing back a card that most people would never imagine could work competitively: Magician of Chaos, paired with Illusion of Chaos. Let me say this clearly — this is one of the hardest decks I’ve ever built, especially figuring out how to make Magician of Chaos actually viable.

I spent almost 2 full months crafting and refining this deck. To be honest, the traditional Dark Magician combo in the current meta isn't just weak — it's downright shaky. The problem isn’t just that the combo is slow; it’s that the deck lacks reliable special summon extenders to keep the plays going.

In the end, I had to bring in Fiendsmith, and surprisingly... everything started running way more smoothly! At first, I didn’t want to rely on it, but let’s be honest — the other combos were clunky and came with heavy costs. Fiendsmith, on the other hand, does everything:

It sets up a solid frontline

It absorbs handtrap pressure

And it helps build your core combo engine

But then came a new problem — because I started going into the core combo so often, the Ritual combo was barely getting used. I was this close to cutting it out… until the final puzzle piece arrived:

Shaddoll Winda.

With Winda in the deck, the Ritual engine finally started to shine again — the synergy was complete. That was the key that let me break through from Diamond to Master Rank.

Oh, and by the way — this deck started from Platinum 5 this season. I didn’t just climb from Diamond. That’s why I’m SO proud of this run. Omg I’m still buzzing — what a feeling!!! 😭💥🧙‍♂️

6-Winstreak!!! I didn’t expect it to be this fun optimizing Magician of Chaos to the absolute max—using its soft once per turn three times in a single duel! Normally I could only do it twice with the pop-into-Illusion-of-Chaos combo, but this time? Three. Clean. Smooth. Satisfying.

Aside from Herald of Perfection, Magician of Chaos is one of my absolute favorites. If you’re not a fan of it, you probably wouldn’t get this kind of joy—but for those who know… you know.

And hey—if Dark Magic gets new support soon? Oh, it’s going to be even crazier.

I literally threw this deck together just for fun.
It wasn’t supposed to do THIS well.
People lowkey looked down on it—like, “Is this even playable?”
Well, SURPRISE.
It just casually landed a 17-3 in Diamond.
That’s right.
Old record? 15-5.
VV x Herald? 17-3.
And this chaotic little Ritual-Sarc combo?
Came in swinging.
Started second in most games.
Still didn’t blink.
I wasn’t even trying to prove anything.
But apparently, when I don’t try… I break records.
Talk about accidental dominance.
