✨Birth:✨
• 1195, Lisbon, Portugal
• Born into a noble family but chose religious life over privilege.

St. Anthony began his vocation with the Augustinians, but after witnessing the martyrdom of Franciscan friars, he felt called to a deeper surrender and joined the Franciscans. His attempt to evangelize in Morocco was halted by illness and a shipwreck that brought him to Italy, where he lived quietly in prayer and service. His hidden brilliance emerged unexpectedly when he was asked to preach at a gathering—revealing extraordinary wisdom, humility, and eloquence. From then on, he became one of the greatest Franciscan preachers, traveling through Italy and France, converting hearts, defending the faith, and performing miracles. His preaching drew immense crowds, and legends say even the fish gathered to listen. His holiness and theological insight later earned him the title Doctor of the Church.

✨𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐝:✨

• 13 June 1231, Padua, Italy
• Many reported healings at his tomb immediately after his burial.

✨Canonized✨

• 30 May 1232 by Pope Gregory IX
• One of the fastest canonizations in Church history.

✨Patronage✨

• Lost items, the poor, the elderly, fishermen, travelers
• Invoked for miracles, protection, and spiritual guidance.
