The victim mindset asks, 'Why me?'

The victor mindset asks, 'What's next?'

A victim mindset clouds opportunity with blame.

Victimhood feels safe, but it steals your future.

Victimhood is a comfortable prison, escape is painful, but is necessary for freedom.

Blame is a cage. Responsibility is the key.

You can’t control what happened, but you can control who you become. You can’t grow while clinging to a wound.

The longer you stay a victim, the longer you stay stuck. Healing begins where victimhood ends 👇

The rearview mirror, the smallest for a reason, represents our past. While we must glance at times for reflection and perspective, we can't move forward boldly and confidently if we don't break our gaze. The windshield, the largest glass in front of us, symbolizes our present and future.

Never be a prisoner of your past 👇

Find echoes & feel emotions of others in yourself.

In a world full of sympathy and not much empathy, the desire to help someone comes from empathy and not from sympathy.

Omoiyari is a Japanese concept to consider other's feelings and needs, and to act accordingly. Often translated as "empathy" but has a deeper meaning, a journey of selfless compassion.

Omoi (思い) is thought or concern for others. Yari is derived from yaru (やる), which means give or send. So, it literally means to give your thoughts to others.

📍Put yourself in others shoes: Try to understand how someone else feels

📍Anticipate needs: Think about what someone might need before they ask

📍Act without expectations: Provide help without expecting gratitude

📍Read the room: Understand the situation and what's appropriate to do

Omoiyari is not always about doing something. Sometimes, not doing or saying anything is also omoiyari.

Omoiyari is practised everyday in Japanese culture.

📍Respectful language: Use honorifics to show respect for others.

📍Speaking quietly in public: It is common sense that loud noise can disturb others, so talking quietly in shared places. People also put their phones in silent mode and don’t answer calls on the train or bus.

📍Non-verbal communication: Use gestures like bowing to show consideration.

📍Cleaning the public place: Since  schooling Japanese people were taught to clean after usage, out of consideration for the cleaning workers and people that will use the place after them.

📍Customer service: Anticipate customer needs and provide service before they ask. Design products for convenience and comfort including packaging.

Sympathy is surface level understanding of someone's situation and taking no action.
Empathy is deeper level understanding of someone's situation and taking action.

A journey of selfless compassion shared in my book👇

Weekend Wisdom: Know the wolves in sheep clothes & sheep in wolf clothes.

Appearances can be deceiving & someone's true nature & character might not be what it seems on surface.

The deceptive nature of appearances is a cautionary tale where loyalty can be thin, and betrayal comes in unexpected places as perils of misplaced trust.

Not every smile is genuine,
not every tear is true,
not every word is worthy,
not every act is authentic,
not every appearance is real and
not every promise is kept.

Yet, all you need is one friend, mentor, or a loved one who can stand by you through thick and thin, while you are going through blood sweat and tears.

Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and sometimes a lifetime to repair. Trust is paradoxical because it involves vulnerability.

To trust is letting someone to your inner world, is a gift offered in the hope of reciprocity, yet the recipient holds the power either to honour or exploit it.

Trust yourself & look beyond the surface to discover who truly deserves your trust. Know the wolves in sheep clothing's & the sheep in wolves clothing's.

Being content makes poor people rich and discontent makes rich people poor.

One is content with oneself,
One accepts oneself,
One doesn't need other's approval.
