Jill Tronca has been an animal lover her whole life, taking a special interest in horses. When she noticed possible animal abuse at a property just a few miles down the road in the town of Scott, she knew she had to act.

The Sheboygan County woman reported her concerns to the sheriff's department.

Brian Moore, 42, is now charged with mistreating animals — intentional or negligent, a misdemeanor.

A high-pressure gas pipeline blast in the Village of Cascade on Friday afternoon sent four people to the hospital and forced the evacuation of 60 homes, leaving some residents to deal with extensive property damage.

All four people hospitalized have since been released, according to authorities.

An excavation crew ruptured a main natural gas line in Sheboygan County Friday afternoon, causing a significant explosion that hospitalized four people and forced evacuations in the town of Mitchell.

The explosion occurred at approximately 1:18 p.m. on Trio Lane in the town of Mitchell, located in the southwest portion of Sheboygan County. The Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting the blast.

Students at Howards Grove Schools collected 6,645 boxes of cereal in about a month to donate to Sheboygan food pantries, far exceeding their goals for the community service project.

"We never really expected it to go this big," said Sierra Bramstedt, a senior at Howards Grove High School.

The district arranged thousands of cereal boxes through school hallways, donated by students and local companies. On Thursday, the school hosted a domino release event to celebrate its hard work.

He remembers them as if they happened yesterday.

Klemme participated in the school's Veterans Day program on Tuesday.

Audrey Williamson doesn't have a typical school schedule. While most students are in class, she's running the Random Lake Cafe under her high school's Youth Apprenticeship program.

"Classes in the afternoon, and in the morning, I work here," Williamson said.

The Random Lake High School senior is one of many students participating in the Youth Apprenticeship, or YA, program that allows students to do paid work for school credits several days a week.

To put on the biggest free light show in Sheboygan, it takes a true team effort.

"We've got over a mile of lights," said Greg Liebig, a founding member of Making Spirits Bright in Sheboygan's Evergreen Park.

In its 14th year, the operation has grown immensely—over 1,000 displays featuring more than one million lights — all created by his team.

It all started last summer when residents in and around the Plymouth area reached out to Mikenzie Hammel in an attempt to save their homes and farms.

"I love it here, and I don't want it destroyed," one resident said.

Folks banded together to form Neighbors 4 Neighbors, or N4N, a group opposed to the Plymouth Reliability Project, run by power company ATC.
