11 YEARS AGO TODAY the novel Star Wars: Dark Disciple by Christie Golden was released! Have you read this book? Let me know your thoughts below ✨ Based on an 8 episode arc for The Clone Wars series prior to it's cancellation, Dark Disciple serves as the climax of Asajj Ventress's redemption arc & is a MUST READ for every Clone Wars fan. The animatics for the cancelled Dark Disciple arc were eventually shown at Star Wars Celebration 2015 during The Clone Wars Untold Tales panel, along with concept art. 10 years later, we would finally get a glimpse of Dark Disciple on-screen in Tales of the Underworld.

As a huge Clone Wars fan, I've always enjoyed the character of Asajj Ventress... but it wasn't until I read the book Dark Disciple for the first time in 2022 that made me fall in love with the character! So naturally, when I found out Nika Futterman was going to be at my local comicon, I knew I HAD to meet her! Listening to her speak about her own love for Ventress, her favorite character moments, & Ventress's journey in Star Wars were some (if not) my favorite moments from the entire weekend! I'm so grateful to have met the actor behind my FAVORITE Star Wars character & to learn that she loves Ventress just as much as we do. Thank you so much for being an amazing human & here's to manifesting even more Ventress in the near future 🖤✨

I didn't star watching The Clone Wars until 2014 when it was on netflix, but I quickly fell in love with the character of Ahsoka Tano... now 12 years later, I finally got to meet her! Ashley Eckstein is a gem of a human & meeting her was everything I hoped for + more! 💙🤍🧡
