When Seretse Khama fell in love with Ruth Williams, a white British woman, it triggered one of the greatest political controversies in African history.
The British government, under pressure from apartheid South Africa, forced him into exile and tried to prevent him from becoming king.
But they underestimated one thing...
His determination.
Years later, Seretse returned home, led Botswana to independence, and became the country's first President, laying the foundation for one of Africa's greatest success stories.
