Schinia chilensis

Schinia chilensis is a moth that belongs to the Heliothinae subfamily (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). It is distributed in Chile, between the Coquimbo Region and the Metropolitan Region. Formerly it was classified as Chloridea chilensis, until it passed to the genus Schinia.
This species can be seen in the photo of this channel, taken by me. Photograph taken in September 2022 in La Serena, Coquimbo Region.

In addition to being a Secondary Level Agricultural Technician, I have university studies in Pedagogy in Music Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Pedagogy in Biology and Natural Sciences.

Since I was a child I have felt a strong interest in nature, especially terrestrial arthropods, mainly insects and arachnids. The latter motivated me to choose the name and photograph of the channel, representing this particular moth that captivated me at the moment of photographing.
