So is there a reason why Dante never uses Quicksilver or Doppelgänger again? You know, the two extra styles he got in DMC3. Only reason I can think of is maybe gameplay balancing, maybe it feels more gimmicky and they didn’t want to bring it back, or not having time to include them, though I’m not sure how much the latter reason would make sense.
We obviously know that Dante doesn’t keep most Devil Arms because he ends up selling them, but it’s not like he can just sell his ability. I headcanon he still has both these abilities, and just doesn’t use them again after DMC3 in later entries. Some theories people have is that they’re completely tied to the Temen-Ni-Gru tower, but I feel like that doesn’t really make sense. Dante’s styles do exist in lore/cutecenes, they just don’t work quite literally like how they do in gameplay, and maybe it’s the same. Kind of a shame that you can’t use them in DMC4 and 5 cause I thought they were cool.
