RRC Restoration

So I'm just sitting here editing todays batch of footage for the new project and I got to thinking about what I was doing at this point last year and it was getting the engine ready to drop into the CRX. As pathetic as it sounds looking back at the restoration pics and footage has gotten me a little down as being locked away in my little workshop restoring that car made me so happy which I haven't really felt since..... I wonder if fully restoring another one of my favorite cars would make me me feel that way again? .... only one way to find out I suppose.

Any spare time I've found this week after work and between rain showers I've been spending putting the fully restored CT90 through its paces! Its just so much fun to ride I could spend hours and hours out on it! For those who haven't seen it I highly recommend checking out the riding footage 😎

We Need To Talk

So as some of you are well aware things have been very up and down for me with life in general at the moment and this has led to my .... well lets face it erratic is the best way to describe it upload schedule. Now my plan is to fix all of that in coming weeks but my question is this. What kind of schedule would you like to see?

Option 1 - Shorter episodes (10 - 15 mins) , plenty of detail , regular uploads say every 7 to 10 days - a side effect of which will mean projects will take twice as long to complete but you'll get twice the content.

Option 2 - Regular length episodes (20+ mins ) , plenty of detail , but longer to wait between uploads - probably a couple of weeks to make the longer episodes but more content per episode means less episodes which means more projects can be squeezed into the year.

Option 3 - Shorter episodes, a bit less detail ( not too much less ) , regular upload schedule but with a little less detail it would free up time to tackle more " one hit" restorations like the 748 SPS and DT250 restorations.

Option 4 - Mixed bag length , Plenty of details , erratic upload schedule , Not fair to you guys ,very stressful and makes me feel ill being under pressure all the time. please don't choose this option.

I look forward to seeing what you all choose and then I can build a new schedule that works for all of us.

Cheers Guys.

WOW, So many great suggestions for restoration projects from my last post, I just wish I had enough years to tackle them all! What did get me thinking though was the suggestion of a VW van and it got me thinking about how much I like the old T25'S and how I always fancied resto modding one!

My plan of attack would probably be restore it back to a minted shell, nice period appropriate paint job, but basically upgrade everything else interior and mechanical wise. I always fancied dropping in a 3.0l V6 tdi coupled to a DSG gearbox ;) What do you think, is that something you'd watch?

So what are we thinking my friends? Is it time to think about getting another cool car to fully restore through the winter? The rotisserie is just sitting there empty 😉

Its funny working on the little CT90 engine and then looking back at the VFR400 NC30 engine and seeing just how complex things can get very quickly. If you haven't seen the VFR restoration then I highly recommend you check it out as I'm sure anyone that has seen it will back me up on ;)

After another long day in the workshop working on the Trail 90, Its quite fun to have a look back at just how many cool old Honda's I've restored on this channel through the years. I feel quite proud to be honest! ☺
