Maybe it's because I'm not a metal head at heart, but I've always been partial to the original Hart Foundation theme music. It's propelling, unrelenting, hypnotic; with synthesizer electricity and tough drum machine elements punching throughout.

So, I took a stab at recording my version. It takes me back to going to the "Special Interest" section of the rental store as a kid, where the WWF VHS tapes were located next to the Jane Fonda workout videos and "Bo Knows Bo" film.

I once taped this version of Bret Hart's theme off the television radio-to-speaker style. 30 plus years later, it's clearly still swirling in my head. *Laughs maniacally like Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart*

Has anybody ever put some lyrics over this? The more I got into a flow state dialing this in, the more it struck me as an uptempo hip hop instrumental. I hear Big Daddy Kane!

Here's what's going on: I recently powered on some old synthesizers and drum machines to recreate the NBA JAM soundtrack!

Everything within this "On Fire Mix" is played/programmed by me, but I'm thinking of putting it out there under the arguably comical alias Video Game Music Man.

What goes into The Beach Boys' Signature Vocal Blend?

Here's a rare and spectacular glimpse behind the scenes! This opportunity was wholly made possible by producer Steve Levine, who produced The Beach Boys for their 1985 self-titled album.

Steve searched through his archives to uncover these individual vocal tracks from "California Calling." Thank you for sharing these sounds, Steve!

Originally broadcast a decade-plus ago on BBC-R4.

Also... I found this weird Beach Boys memorabilia pin.

Are you listening to SAIL ON: The Beach Boys Podcast?

Here's an alternate version of this season's "All This Is That" theme. We're into the 70s!

Special thanks to Elora for unearthing the Brian Wilson Adidas-and-shades '79 footage! Also, special thanks to Wyatt Funderburk for taking this version of the theme, reworking it, and tailoring it to the show with relevant bits-and-pieces.

Radio waves!

Sing a song for summer. This is me going back in time to the 70s, trying my hand at some iconic Chris Rainbow radio jingles. Sunshine frequencies!

It was a lot of fun tracking the instruments and stacking the vocals for this!

Happy July 4th (almost),
Will

As we navigate deep emotions, we continue to celebrate the legacy of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. I'm going home, back to my record collection. Seeking bursts of joy by way of a lost version of Brian Wilson's "Darlin'."

Experiencing deep gratitude for the music, and for the community of kindred spirits it has connected me to.

Remember the good times.
