My AI short film “WHY ME?” is finally complete. 🎬

I created it for the Higgsfield Global Film Festival, but this film also became an experiment in something I care deeply about: AI realism.

We already know AI can create impossible worlds, enormous action sequences and things a traditional camera could never capture.

But I’m more interested in the opposite question:

Can AI create something so believable that, for a few minutes, you forget it was made with AI?

That meant obsessing over natural performances, skin texture, lighting, camera language, continuity, awkward pauses, small expressions and the little imperfections that make cinema feel human.

WHY ME? follows Noah Carter and a question many of us have quietly asked ourselves at least once.

Why me?

And eventually… perhaps there is a better question.

My new cinematic AI film is about the Mumbai many of us actually remember.

☎️ Calling friends on the landline
📚 Mom covering school books with brown paper
📐 That geometry box
🌧️ Paper boats during Mumbai rains
💡 Power cuts with the whole family together
🎂 Birthday parties inside the living room
🛵 Rides with Dad
📻 Old radios and family photo albums
🚌 School mornings
☕ Cutting chai
🌊 Marine Drive sunsets
🏃 And one voice from downstairs…

“नीचे आ!”

I focused heavily on cinematic composition, handheld camera language, macro photography, natural lighting, realistic Indian skin textures, environmental sound and making every AI-generated frame feel physically photographed.

This isn't really a film about Mumbai.

It's about realizing that the ordinary days were the special ones.

I spent a lot of time experimenting with Seedance 2.5 through Higgsfield to see how far I could push AI action filmmaking.

The final film is around 4 minutes and includes large-scale fights, character transformations, superpowers, dynamic handheld camera movement, speed ramps, bullet time, ultra slow motion and multi-character choreography.

Some things worked surprisingly well...especially cinematic camera movement, action timing and visual effects.

Other things still required a lot of patience: character duplication, maintaining identities, crowd control and keeping complicated choreography consistent across generations.

There were plenty of failed generations and prompt rewrites along the way, but that is also what made this experiment interesting.

A condemned Roman warrior is thrown into the Colosseum and ordered to kill a lion. But when he realizes they are both prisoners of the same cruel ruler, the spectacle becomes a rebellion.

Created using Higgsfield and Seedance 2.0 4K, with original storytelling, character development, cinematic prompting, action choreography, editing and sound design.

This project pushed me further into the world of AI filmmaking, AI cinema and generative storytelling.
