I also do automotive related reviews of performance parts, aftermarket parts, tools, specialty products, and almost anything related to the automotive industry. My personal experience in the industry includes many years of classroom training, numerous certifications, and a senior master technician certification with Ford Motor company. I have worked in several Independent mechanic shops as well as numerous Ford dealerships.

6R140 Transmissions

The overdrive clutch pack in the 6R140 has proven to be the most problematic. This clutch set has the smallest clutches in the entire transmission.

We have seen everything from cracked and bent molded overdrive pistons, to just shear power from tuned trucks causing burnt clutches.

On every 6R140 rebuild, we install a set of RevMax billet overdrive pistons, to ensure there is no chance of breaking or flexing the flimsy overdrive pistons. These billet pistons also allow us to stack in 9 clutches, which is 2 more than the stock amount.

This, along with other modifications, really help make these 6R140 transmissions much more capable!
