Victor Akpomon (born March 16) popularly known by his stage name Dr Barz, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and performing music act. Raised in the city of Port Harcourt, he was majorly influenced by hiphop artistes like 50 cent, Lil Wayne, T.I, Nas, Game, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole. He started songwriting in his final years of secondary school. He holds a B.Sc in Microbiology.
Dr. Barz’ music is a distinctive fusion of contemporary Hip Hop sounds and African rhythms. With lyrics that are relatable and address the different aspects of daily life, Dr. Barz has developed distinctively, his own style.
Beyond the music, Dr. Barz is a well devoted activist. He is a member of the “GivingBack2TheStreets” NGO; and he is the founder of the “PunchLinesNotPeople” movement - a movement of creatives utilizing all forms of art to fight and condemn all forms of violence to mankind.
