As a director / writer / producer based in South Africa and the USA, I spent much of my early career as a documentary filmmaker in conflict zones around the world. This period was key in shaping my passion for using film to effect change for good in the world around me. I’ve strived to use those experiences to tell engaging, character driven, action based stories.
I’ve always been of the mind that we should approach life as an adventure. In that spirit, my journey has opened the door for me to work in 12 different countries in feature films, commercials, music videos, lifestyle TV, game shows and documentaries. I’ve pretty much done it all and met some incredible people along the way, but at the heart of what drives me, is narrative. I’m all about telling stories that matter and working with people that push me to be better at telling those stories.

This is a previously unreleased visual concept action short we put together one afternoon for a series based on the epic rise of the biblical King David we were developing way back in 2016!
The idea was to create something with visceral action and aesthetics in the vein of Spartacus and 300.
Even after 10 years, I’m still proud of what we could achieve with nothing. I directed and shot this with a basic camera, a cheap zoom lens, a consumer drone, and a reflector for lighting. That’s it!
It’s yet another testament to what my team can achieve with just pure creativity, passion, and tenacity.

It was such a treat heading out with the lads to see my favorite film, The Fellowship of the Ring, on the big screen again after 25 years.
Though I've seen it countless times, I still found myself enthralled at the spectacle of it all. Pure Cinema.

It’s all about the team. With every passion project I tackle, I’m always amazed by the passion, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness of my friends and colleagues who never hesitate to jump on board.
“The Other Side” was the product of an incredible amount of hard work and dedication from everyone involved. What we pulled off in such a short time and with comically limited resources still astounds me.
