A few hours ago tragedy struck in Louisville. UPS flight 2976, a McDonell Douglas MD-11F, crashed and erupted into a huge fireball just seconds after takeoff. Reports and footage confirm that engine number 1 detached from the aircraft shortly before rotation. Onboard were 3 crew members, all of whom perished upon impact. As of now another 4 ground fatalities have been confirmed and at least 2 more are missing.

As many of you have already heard a B787-8 operating as AIC171 to LGW crashed earlier today with over 240 occupants. So far only 1 person has survived from the flight with the rest feared to have perished along with an unconfirmed number of people on the ground.

Footage and reports indicate the aircraft might have experienced a birdstrike shortly after V1 and was therefore forced to rotate, the aircraft reached 700ft before stalling and crashing into a residential area.

My thoughts and prayers goes to all victims and their loved ones, may this day never be forgotten🕊

As if we didn't get enough with the crashes in December...

An American Eagle CRJ-700 operating as flight 5342 to Washington has collided with a US army UH-60 Black Hawk on short final for runway 33. Both aircraft crashed into the icy Potomac river. I have heard that 4 out of the 64 souls onboard the American Eagle flight have been found with unclear conditions.

May all the victims rest in peace, fly high🕊

We have witnessed the worst week in aviation in a very long time. My thoughts and prayers goes to the victims and their loved ones. Rest in peace to all 217 people who lost their lives in these two horrifying crashes🕊
