Buttercup 🕊️

We got the news that buttercup passed away yesterday from heart failure due to her size. Although I knew broiler chickens (cornish cross) typically don’t live very long because they are made to be large enough for slaughter at only 5 weeks, somehow I thought she would get to live much longer than 6 months.

The fact that humans have done this and continue to exploit these sweet innocent souls that can’t even reach 1 year old instead of 10 plus years like regular chickens is absolutely disgusting! Buttercup was the sweetest, funniest, smartest and most intelligent chicken i’ve ever met. She was so happy and grateful for being saved and will be in my heart forever.

At least Buttercup got to experience life that the 75 BILLION chickens killed annually never will, even though it was only for a little while..

Hey everyone!
How has everyone been doing?

Update: I’ve decided to put bonding on pause for a while because they are so aggressive 😢 It makes me so so upset that they don’t getting along and Oakley won’t have the bond he had with Willow but I guess they’ll just have to be bar buddies for now.

Jupiter the betta fish is doing great! And we got to see the Southern lights (through a camera) and got the biggest hail i’ve ever seen!

I always said to myself i’ll start posting again once the bunnies are bonded but they may never be so I was wondering if anyone would still be interested in seeing videos even though they aren’t bonded?
