Update: Journey Church and Center Odek

Praise the Lord! This project is progressing despite a few rain delays, and we are willing to sacrifice progress for the much-needed rain. A few things recently checked off the to-do list:
✅ Roof constructed
✅ Interior plastered
✅ Veranda construction began

It is truly humbling to be a part of what God is doing in Odek, and through each one of you: our prayer warriors, encouragers, and givers. This is going to be transformational for so many communities, including those suffering from Nodding Syndrome. We are already witnessing lives being changed and hope breaking through.

These last two months in Uganda have been non-stop, but also full of so much beauty. As we look through all of the pictures that we want to share with you, there are so many stories of God’s goodness.

In particular, we are again in awe of the strength of Ugandan women. Their ability to persevere, to lead, to create beauty from ashes. 📷 Handmade from the earth, this vessel was formed by her hands. Carried a long distance to market, and sold to care for her family. We are so blessed to witness these daily acts of love, the resilience is more than inspiring.

Meet Pastor Paul and his wife Millie. 👋🏿
We are thrilled to announce that they will serve at Journey International as Field Support in Odek. This means overseeing the property, community outreach, and most importantly Pastoring the church! They have 9 children, which includes nieces and nephews. They love evangelism, and going to villages to share the Good News of Jesus.

They have a passion for children’s ministries, and pastoral/leadership training. Paul is chairman over several of the Northern Districts Pastoral Associations, which draws together many different born again denominations for times of training and fellowship.

We knew it was crucial to have a local Pastor serving in this role. And we feel very blessed that they are a local couple, serving TOGETHER! They both have such a huge heart for the Nodding Syndrome children and families. We know that this area will begin to thrive under their leadership. Paul is currently Pastor of the Salvation Shed Journey constructed in Gulu last year.
