Have you been to Knysna Heads? Oh, that view ๐๐ Do you see the different colours in the estuaries?
We're back with a Knysna post again, and we promise to move on to other things (for a while at least ๐).
The Knysna Heads offer one of the most picturesque views along the Garden Route as you experience the water crashing onto rocks and running through passages formed. There's a small cave that you can walk into, but one of the coolest things is seeing the rock formations and how they have evolved into its current state.
Of course, the location provides you with multiple gorgeous backgrounds that provide al different view for out of this world pictures on your Instagram feed ๐
The easiest way to access the views is from @eastheadcafe. You could have a meal with a awesome views! Altematively, you could just park nearby and head over to the rocks to take in the beauty. For a more panoramic view (the first picture), we would recommend driving a bit further up where there is a marked location, a lookout point. Honestly the views are absolutely breathtaking, and we recommend visiting on a day on which you want to feel a sense of overwhelming calmness, just to take a moment from life's every day hustle.
Looking for the best steak in Cape Town? Wynberg in Cape Town is home to some great places to eat and one restaurant that we definitely recommend is @sabriascpt
We first visited the restaurant through a recommendation from @hungryforhalaal and have since gone back 3 times; a testament to the ambience they have created and simply mouthwatering food. If you are simply looking for a break from cooking or date night, this is the place to be. It's also great for families ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง
In all honesty, we always order the mushroom cheddamelt steak (pictured first). It comes with a side of fries (regular or sweet potato) or mashed potatoes and is one of the best steaks we have had in Cape Town.
The samosas and masala tea pair perfectly well with this. The second picture was when we were feeling adventurous and decided to try their crunchy jalapeรฑo steak ๐ถ๏ธ but the mushroom still beat it ๐ฏ
๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ ๐ง๐: The food and ambience. ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ฃ: Their waiting staff can be a hit or miss, and we don't love that they automatically include a tip in the bill which seems to reduce the incentive for great service. โ๐ฃ๐๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐: RRR
Meet @thali_capetown; when an Indian restaurant fuses with fine dining.
You will have three options when you dine on the Thali (platter) for 2; a non-veg, veg and the vegan option. We went with the vegetarian option and were quite impressed with the variety of spices and tastes, having been to many Indian restaurants.
The entire meal takes 90 minutes, during which you get three thalis. When your waiter brings a thali, they will explain the components of the meal, and what it tastes like.

We hiked Table Mountain on Heritage Day 2021 & were amazed by the beautiful views while climbing and when we were up there. None of the pictures are edited, & the first picture was a shot we managed to capture in the split second that the clouds gave way to some sun at an altitude of 3000 feet.
There are tons of hikes to do in Cape Town, & you would think that because you're looking down at the same city, the views would end up being similar, but they're so not! Every hike brings with it a new sense of wonder at the beauty that surrounds us.
We'll be honest, hiking up Table Mountain was a bit of a mental block. It felt like a very tough hike & required some preparation in terms of fitness. But in reality, it was totally doable if you have a medium level of fitness like us.
Leading up to the hike, we mostly hiked once every 2 weeks to build that fitness. On the day, we used the Kasteelspoort route through Pipe track. It's a slightly longer route, but the views were well worth it. Make sure to get an early start though, so you can be making your way towards the peak/coming down when the sun is overhead.
As a heavily trafficked route, safety is not a problem with many hello's and small talks with fellow hikers. There's also tons of directions along the way! It took us about 4 hours to reach up there (with stops). There will be a lot of steps on the route; you will find that at some point you are just climbing rocks.
It wasn't a cloudy day, but you'll see that many of our pictures are cloudy, simply because the higher we climbed, the closer we were to clouds! Dew can be seen on plants & rocks too. Sometimes, we just stood as the clouds passed through us. The experience, the view up there and the picture at the diving board ๐ is well worth it.
Coming down, we used the simplest path down via Constantia Nek. This took us 2 hours. It will seem like child's play once you have climbed up, since it is a jeep track, but is a welcome relief as you are probably completely exhausted by now. On the way down, you will see a lot of beautiful scenery as well, passing picturesque dams & splendid views of the other side of the City. #travel#capetown
We were so sad when Honeybun's Cafe closed down. It was one of our favourite breakfast spots in Cape Town ๐ญ Here's a throwback to our fave items. And of course, the cheesecake!!
We recommend the Sevilla Rock Art Trail all the way in Clanwilliam. The drive is approximately 3 hours from Cape Town and can be a day trip if you start early. It is estimated that the paintings are about 8000 to 800 years old, which is really cool!
The trail begins at the Khoisan Kitchen, which serves as a restaurant and a craft shop. Trail entrance fee is ZAR 40 per person.
On the trail, you will see a total of 9 different rock art sites. You should definitely get the pamphlet at the entrance, because it explains the history behind all 2 500 paintings.
The trail is a leisurely walk with some jumping and climbing (although it can feel harder in the unforgiving sun) and has two options; the shorter one (takes 1.5 hours round trip) and the longer one (2.5 to 3 hours round trip). There are steps painted on the route to guide you on the right path.
