Marvelous news, guys...
The Rainbow Rocks retrospective has been copyright claimed all of the sudden by Hasbro overnight. Meaning that instead of being paid for countless hours of my work, the big company is stomping on the little guy again- how awesome of them.
That said, I submitted a dispute, and am currently waiting for Hasbro to review it and hopefully release the claim. If they DO release it, that's fantastic, and there's no more problem. However, if they DON'T release it, I'm basically just losing money for as long as the video is up, when I could be taking my chances with a reupload.
Speaking of which, the alternative is that I edit the video to show less footage and reupload it, but that'll mean that the video has to start again from 0 views, and most viewers will probably move on without watching it a second time, which will more than likely kill the video in the algorithm. But then the issue is that even if I DO do this, they might unexpectedly claim the reupload.
So that really leaves me with two options. Do I wait for the slither of chance that Hasbro will do the right thing and release their claim, or just go ahead and reupload now?

If you want to help out in a more practical way, watch the reupload again if it comes to that, and just share my channel around with your friends. That genuinely helps out a lot more than you can imagine.
I had a whole bunch of big videos like this planned, but it's honestly kinda hard to stay encouraged about working on them when I have to deal with this BS time after time after time.

Hey y'all! Got some bad news, strap in for some rambling.

The Lyra Heartstrings video I made 6 months ago got copyright claimed by Hasbro out of the blue today.

Naturally, I tried disputing this claim, since the video completely falls into fair use- All the footage from the show was used to provide context for commentary and it was not used to serve as a replacement of the actual show. Anyone who's seen the video would be able to attest to that.

However, because big companies like doing big company things, Hasbro predictably denied my dispute, and now 100% of the money earned from that video goes to them instead of me.

Just to reiterate, a video that I poured days and hours into making was initially perfectly fine for half a year, but suddenly Hasbro decided to take that from me out of nowhere.

The exact same thing has also happened to the Owlowiscious video as well a while ago, too.

This obviously sets a scary precedent for this channel. It means that Hasbro can just decide that all gains made from my channel and my hard work must be funneled into their pockets that are already full- as opposed to this middle-class college student who's devoting time and passion into a channel that's not even stepping on their toes getting what he's owed.
