Hey GaMers, our first ever June Jamboree event (taking place of May Madness this year as I was busy working on some things 😜) begins with the first song tomorrow!
Most of the latest material is also now available on streaming services (Spotify/Apple Music/etc), as well as two other past GaMetal songs! This includes:
-Divine Bloodlines -Pac-Man's Park / Block Town -Vs. Lumine (Part 1 & 2)* -Major Boss Battle (Freedom Planet) -Boss Battle (Kirby Super Star) -The Pepsiman Pepsi Jam (2019)** -Fight Against Smithy, Who Likes Transforming***
*Vs. Lumine had to be split into two tracks for licensing purposes, Paradise Lost still ends Part 2 as it's practically the same composition as Pt. 2's slower section. **Found a release that allowed me to license this 🥳 ***Fight Against Smithy / Who Likes Transforming also had to be split into two tracks for licensing purposes, the first First Against Smithy is still in processing and should hopefully release sometime next week, FAS Who Likes Transforming got processed early for some reason.
(For more info how how streaming service releases work, please check out question #2 on my site's FAQ at jonnyatma.com/faq/ )
I mentioned this a few posts ago, but I still need to update my website, sorry about the very long delay! I will have it updated within the next few days.
That's all for now, I'll see you again soon for the first of many songs coming this month! 😃
Hey GaMers, just a quick reminder that today's the last day to vote for next month's songs in the June Jamboree voting form: forms.gle/DyddViMC96ArKg5LA
As for this month, the next song will be ready this weekend, so get to filling out that form and stay tuned! 🙂
For those unfamiliar with the previous May Madness events (which this is, but in June this year): every May since 2015, I've gone back and re-covered a few of my older remixes. I do this to spruce up some of my older arrangements that I feel could use a fresh coat of paint as I continue to polish my skills in multiple avenues over time.
Last year, we shook things up a bit and voted for full versions of songs that previously appeared in GaMetal medleys. I felt that went over very well (and made for a far easier to understand voting form for a lot of folks), so we're going to do something similar again this year... but once more, a bit different!
For this year's form, we'll be looking at songs from 2 console medleys we didn't include in last year's voting: the recent Game Boy Advance Medley #2 and our original 2015 SNES Medley. You can pick up to three songs from each of these medleys that you'd most like to hear a full version of.
In addition to that are two new categories: Second Chance and Select 2015 Songs.
The Second Chance category contains medley songs from last year's form that received a high amount of votes, but didn't make it into the final set (usually a runner up or song that tied between the Public and Patreon forms).
The Select 2015 Songs category contains GaMetal songs from 2015 that I'd be interested in remaking. In regards to this section, there are some 2015 songs that I'm personally ok with and honestly don't feel need a remake at the moment, some that have received remasters as bonus tracks in yearly compilation albums that I'm content with, and songs that I'm more interested in giving a complete overhaul rather than a remaster (or that I've remastered before but still up for remaking). This category contains that latter portion of songs.
I'll be taking a hard look at the songs with the most requests, and I'll have many of them coming your way this June.
This form will close on May 16th to prepare for the upcoming event. I will post a final reminder on the last day that the form is open. Happy Voting! 🙂
PS: We have a couple of extra categories specifically on the Patreon version of the voting form, so if you've been interested in helping support GaMetal and become a Patron, nows a good time to do so (would be greatly appreciated! 😃). www.patreon.com/jonnyatma
Hey GaMers! I've got a bunch of updates to share with you today.
First off, I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be working with my good friend @TeeLopes to provide some guitar tracks for the upcoming game MARVEL Cosmic Invasion! This is being developed by Dotemu and Tribute Games, so if you were a fan of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (or even if you never played it) be sure to check this one out. You can hear some of my guitar work in the announcement trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjnAP...
Starting this year, I've decided to move our annual May Madness remake event to June (June Jamboree?). I have some songs and other things I'm wanting to finish up before hand, so the remake suggestion form (along with more details) will be posted next month rather than this month.
Lastly: BIG GaMetal streaming service release drop this weekend (Spotify/Apple Music/etc). In addition to the 4 most recent songs, most Kirby and the Forgotten Land remixes are now up! This includes:
-Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit* -A Full-Speed Farewell to the New World* -Northeast Frost Street -Sword of the Surviving Guardian -The Oracle (Secret of Mana) -Action Over Words (SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech) -Inner Station (Metal Slug) -Main Theme (Balatro)
*Two Planets and A Full-Speed Farewell~ had to be split into two tracks for licensing purposes. I also had to drop the middle section I originally had as a transition piece (Chaos Elfilis Intro / The Fate of Two Worlds) since it's not licensable (yet).
Morpho Knight is also still missing, as the KatFL soundtrack Nintendo Music release (which is how I'm now able to license these songs) is still incomplete. I assume once it's up in full, it'll be included and I'll be able to get that one up.
(For more info how how streaming service releases work, please check out question #2 on my site's FAQ at jonnyatma.com/faq/ )
Also, I realize I've fallen way behind on updating my website (jonnyatma.com/), I'll do my best to make sure it's all up to date by the end of next week. Apologies for the delay there.
Till then, new song coming in a few days, thank you all for being the best community around, I'll see you again soon! 😃
I've been ill with a particularly bad flu over the last week and a half, hence the delay in getting going this month, but I'm finally almost at 100% and we'll be kicking off this February's set of songs in rapid-fire fashion starting this weekend and all throughout next week.
Also, there's something I forgot to mention in the last post, I had the privilege of being a part of the recently released Gimmick! Official Arranged Soundtrack! I performed the guitars on the Tee Lopes arrangement of "Strange Memories of Death", a song that went unused in the original Gimmick! (though it could be heard in the sound test), but was later re-added to the Gimmick! EXACT☆MIX release as the continue screen music.
If you're a fan of Gimmick!, be sure to check it out! It can be found on most platforms/services here: orcd.co/gimmick
Again, back to new remixes this weekend, thank you for your patience! 🙂
I've been meaning to give you monthly updates on which songs I've been able to get licensed for these services, but tbh, I've been slacking, so I'll be starting that back up this month. I was able to get 3 of the 4 January songs (What I'm Made Of, Nebula Gray, and -tekitAI-) up for streaming services, unfortunately KIU Boss Battle was rejected.
For those wondering why I don't have every song up on Spotify/etc (trust me, I want to), please read up on the second question on my site's FAQ: www.jonnyatma.com/faq/ (The quick version: these places work differently than YouTube and I can't get every song licensed).
I've got some big things in store for you all this year that I'm really excited to get finished and out to you. Before then, I should be ready to begin February's song set by the end of this week.
See you again soon! 😃
PS: XIV album art (as well as all January 2025 album art) by @nintendo-nut1 , this year's "elemental" theme: Spirit/Ghost!
I hope you all have enjoyed the 2024 year of GaMetal, it's been one of my favorite years to date! I've got some big projects planned for 2025 that I'm excited to get out to you all throughout the year.
Till then, have a happy and safe New Year's day, I'll see you again in a week or so with the 2025 Premiere!
Hey GaMers! The end of the year is nigh, and I have one of the best end-of-year song lineups yet coming your way. We're kicking it off with the next song tonight, so be sure to check back in later! 😈
Hey GaMers, I've extended the deadline for the 2024 Song Ballot to July 5th! You can still get your entry in at the form here: forms.gle/dJLqDF256R32dWo27
I've been incredibly busy offline over the past week (just moved into a new place) so haven't had time to work on anything, but I should be back to work within a couple of days with the next song ready by this weekend, followed by my personal birthday song pick (which should technically fall on my birthday today but as mentioned, have had little time to work on anything at all 😅).
