Hi there! I'm Bea (aka Triple B!) I make covers of mostly video game tunes, mostly in prog and post-rock/metal styles.

Wow... I can't believe it's been a whopping FIVE YEARS since I posted my very first video game arrangement!! If you have a listen below, you can really see/hear how far I've come... I mean first of all I still believed I was just a 'cis dude' and all that, but also, it just sounds like shit in comparison to what I've been making more recently lol. I'm still pretty happy with this arrangement in concept, but it's definitely one I'd want to revisit, especially if I decide to do the whole Ristar soundtrack or something...
Speaking of which, while it's not ready yet, I am working on my first Ristar arrangement in over three years in celebration of my very first one being half a decade ago. So that's something to look forward to!
Besides that, I have an arrangement in the works for Pixel Mixers' 10th Anniversary community album, and I'm performing on one or two other tracks for that album; so whenever that has a set release date, I'll make sure to share that with y'all! :)

Hey y'all, just here for my regular-ish update on what I've been working on.
I have one vgm cover fully recorded audio-wise that was for Dwelling of Duels at the end of March; just need to get video from everyone involved (including myself lol), do some re-mixing/mastering, and edit the video for that! Don't know when it will be out on YouTube, but it is almost done at least. If you really want to listen to it now, it is on the Dwelling of Duels website here: dodarchive.dwellingofduels.net/25-03-Free/07-Tripl…
I have another small handful on unfinished projects at this point as well that are at some point in the arranging stage. One I wanted to do for Pixel Mixers a couple months in a row, but I just didn't work at music much at all last month so I missed the deadline. That one I will just release on its own since it would feel weird using it for a contest when I've already done a significant amount of work on it. The other unfinished ones are barely started though, so I could get myself to use those for contests at some point.
I'm also gonna try to get another entry in for the yearly Soundole Chill Out contest this month! If possible, I might be able to quickly get out something for DoD/PM as well, but it's unlikely.
My band is still making our 2 debut albums... it's been a long time at this point and that's still all we have sadly. But we recently discussed mixing/mastering one song from each album just to release something early, and so we finally have something out to show for all the time we spent so far working on them. Hopefully those singles can come out in the next couple months and then we'll see how the albums and starting to play live goes from there.

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I made the decision to request a takedown of all my music that is currently on Spotify. A new update in the form of another premium plan coming later this year for consumers is to allow AI remixing of artists' music at the discretion of distributors. While this update hasn't been fully revealed or known when it will happen, ultimately this is just another way that Spotify is going to blatantly disrespect artists and allow people to steal from them by using generative AI with their music. Hopefully other streaming platforms don't follow suit; while the YouTube main platform can allow AI remixes of videos, is up to the creator to allow this per upload, so I can keep others from doing that with my content here (at least, in a legal sense)
My music that I've put up for streaming will continue to be available on Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and iTunes/Apple Music. (some may be available on some other lesser known places as well).
Speaking of streaming platforms, I haven't actually distributed anything to those in over 1.5 years. I have a couple reasons for this. One is, I want to be able to have proper cover art, rather than the awful "cover art" I made myself and used as a lazy template for every release. I would love to be able to pay artists for this, but I can't really afford to do that for every song I cover that happens to be licensable. I would gladly consider this for a whole album though!
Second is, a lot of the songs I end up covering aren't licenseable lol. This is because my distributor Soundrop requires that the song had to have had a US release. Many video game OSTs just weren't, but thankfully some companies have been working on releasing their video game OSTs (ie. Nintendo with their music app), so I might be able to start doing so in the future.
Third (related to the cover art thing), I would much rather stick to album/EP/collection releases on streaming platforms in the future. I've thought a lot about doing Bandcamp releases as well, but that has another issue of licensing; while US artists can use the licenses acquired through Soundrop, others cannot (I'm Canadian), so I would either have to get more licenses elsewhere (also very $$$), or do the old "yolo bandcamp" release, and hope no copyright holders take an issue with a small-time artist (who almost doesn't make money off of music) releasing cover songs.

As of March 22nd, I have been regularly posting my music on YouTube for 5 years!! Crazy that it's been that long already... so much has changed since then. I've improved my craft considerably since, connected with the vgm community, and made great friends and contacts in a few of the sub-communities (especially recently :D ). During that time, I also moved my place of residence three times, dealt with a hard break-up, came out as trans, joined a band with some old college friends, and discovered many other things about myself, including being autistic/ADHD and learning what that means for how I communicate, socialize, deal with trauma, deadlines etc. It's been a rollercoaster. Here's to many more years of music, and many more vgm covers!
Speaking of vgm covers, I still have a video for January's Pixel Mixers to finish (just waiting for video from one of my collaborators), and have an arrangement coming up for this month's Dwelling of Duels, and *probably* another for Pixel Mixers. Been very very busy with music lately compared to usual, and not feeling burnt out at all!
I recently relocated all my music instruments/computer/recording equipment etc. into my bedroom as opposed to the basement, so there will be a change of scenery in future videos (aside from the almost finished one I mentioned). I only just now somehow have become a proper "bedroom musician" lol (my first two videos were in my bedroom, but then I moved immediately afterward)

Just wanted to take a moment to say that I appreciate everyone who takes the time to listen to my music and leave comments, whether on here or on other streaming platforms. I rarely respond to comments with more than just a heart because I don't have much to say, but I always read them.
I find it easy sometimes to get down on myself and think that I'm not improving as an artist, or that people don't really care that much, or that my art hasn't left a positive impact on anyone, but I tend to forget some of the really nice comments I've gotten over the years that contradict those false feelings of anxiety and self-doubt.
Also wanted to thank the vgm community in general, y'all are so supportive, and I'm glad we have such an overall great community, and I love collaborating with other musicians in the community and seeing how much other collaboration goes on. Even with a lot of it being purely online/long-distance, it's one of those things that reminds me life can be beautiful. 💜

Happy new year everyone! Thought I'd just do a little check in to let you know what I'm working on.
I'm currently working on a cover for the current Pixel Mixers contest, which is JRPG-themed! I'm gonna have two other musicians collab with me on this one, so look forward to that! I'm also planning on doing another 60-second-or-less cover for this month's Dwelling of Duels, so that should be out later in the month / beginning of February as well. I know my plans always change depending on how I'm doing, but I have yet to miss Brevity month at DoD so here's hoping my streak continues!
My band's albums are still coming along slowly, we're 99% finished recording and can focus on mixing/mastering, but considering it's 2 full albums worth of material (19 tracks), it's gonna be a while still. We're considering also trying to start practicing/rehearsing for live performances before they're finished which wasn't our original plan, but we're really just itching to get out there. I'll leave more updates as things come along!

Hey all, haven't done any updates on here in a bit, but just wanted to share that I have a new cover coming pretty shortly! Just a visualizer for this one, as its fairly long and has sections without much "going on", so it wouldn't make for a super interesting performance video. It was for the most recent Dwelling of Duels, whose theme this time was music by David Wise! You'll be able to enjoy it here soon enough 😁
