Hey, I’m Andrew—welcome to Low Effort Gardening!
I grow food in Zone 6B (Massachusetts), where the weather keeps you guessing and the seasons move fast. But no matter what zone you’re in, the stuff I share is meant to help you grow better, with less fuss.
This channel is all about practical gardening. I test things out, show what’s working (and what isn’t), and keep it honest. Whether it's figuring out when to fertilize, how to reclaim a weedy mess, or what your seedlings should look like at 2 weeks—I'm here to make the learning curve a little less steep.
If you like the idea of growing more food without overcomplicating it, you’re in the right place. Grab a coffee, check out a video, and let’s get growing.

🌱 Thinking about doing a live seed share and giveaway — would you join me?
👉Whatnot.com/user/monkeegrip
I’ve been kicking around an idea for a live seed event this month — part giveaway, part Q&A, part seed sale.
I’d be sharing some of what I’ve got in bulk right now:
🧅 Onion seeds (Walla Walla + Patterson)
🥬 Spinach + Kale
🧄 Hardneck Garlic cloves
It’d be a relaxed, fun stream where we hang out, talk gardening plans, and share seeds for the 2026 growing season.
I’m also planning to do a giveaways for viewers who hop in live.
Would you tune in for something like that?
Let me know in the comments — and if you want it to happen, drop a 🌱 emoji so I know you’re in.

🚨 New video just dropped — and this one answers a BIG question…
Can you really grow enough protein to feed a family of 4 for an entire year?
I crunched the numbers, compared yields for beans, peas, chickens, sunflower seeds, chestnuts, and even some “wild card” sources, and built a realistic, bed-by-bed plan you could actually follow.
💡 If you’ve ever wondered how much space you’d really need — or which crops pull the most weight in a self-sufficient garden — this breaks it all down.

🌱 Garden Update #2 Got Off to a Slow Start… But I Think I Know Why! 🌱
