Hi! I'm Jo.

I'm in my late thirties and consider myself a Post-Pandemic Makeup Baby. The pandemic helped me switch my mindset from doing my makeup for others to doing my makeup for myself!

Playing with makeup and other beauty products is my creative outlet. I love exploring new formulas and having options in my collection, while keeping a collection where I use everything regularly.

I've also been a F1 fan for most of my life - I started following when I was a kid, with very little to go from. Now, I want to join other seasoned F1 fans bringing context to the sport as it is now and welcoming new fans by sharing my perspectives as a seasoned, female F1 fan that has seen a thing or two!

If any of this sounds like fun or good background noise, I hope you'll join me in my sparkly corner of the Internet...whether you're into sparkly flecks in your eyeshadow or sparks flying from a low floor, you're welcome here!

Well heyyyyy...

Sadly, there will be no Q4 empties video. I can't bring myself to post it.

Once again, my angles are absolute trash and products are not clearly visible, so it just makes for a subpar watching experience and I don't want to put that out.

I can't reshoot it because I've already thrown out all my empties. I'm trying to remind myself that I'm still learning to film and I can always try better on my next (empties) video.

Anyways, my next video will be my December Palette Project Report and the eyeshadows I've spent all of January using.

Anyone else feels like January was the trial month and only now you're ready to start the year? Or do you actually have your life together? 🤦‍♀️🤣

Probably the best thing I've heard in the last 24 hours.

If I did a birthday giveaway (my birthday is in 10 days), what would you prefer to get from your wishlist?

"Comparison is the thief of joy" - Theodore Roosevelt

It's hard to not feel like you're so far behind, and your life is so blah if you go by everything you see on social media. But the reality is (and even when we know this, it can be hard to remember sometimes!) that what we see is NOT reality for the majority of people you see. It's also important to remember that when it comes to creators, showing you this stuff IS THEIR JOB, so they're working with companies and getting products for review and showcase.

You're not behind. You're not doing it wrong. And someone else's success doesn't impede yours.

Charlotte Holdcroft, one of my absolute favorite creators here, gives such insightful (and realistic!) perspective on how to take all the shiny glitzy things we see on social media. Go check it out, I'd love to hear what you think!

2024 already has 4 days down. I'm slowly getting back into routines after a much-needed winter break (the pictures below are of Petra and the Dead Sea in Jordan). Routines include posting again here! What can you expect over here in 2024? I'm so glad you asked! 😁

- Shop My Stash will happen every couple of months; basically each time I travel. Depending on the length of the trip it may be a short or an actual video.

- Swatch Shorts will continue, mostly for reference purposes.

- Empties for October - December will be up shortly.

Thank you for joining in on the fun over here! I hope 2024 is your best year yet ! 🫶

Two fantastic videos on PatMcGrath:

1. A detailed comparison from Joce Loves Makeup between Mothership XI: Sunlit Seduction, and previous palettes all the way back to Divine Rose I. After watching this video, I actually think that Mothership IX: Huetopian Dream (which I own) is the closest to the latest one, but go check it out and tell me what you think:

https://youtu.be/PIBYq-99Wr0

2. A history of the Mothership palettes by Infinite Garden: it helps understand how the brand has evolved over time and how their products have changed based on external circumstances. Very insightful! Check it out here:

If there are other great videos with comparisons between PMG palettes let me know! Drop them in the comments please!
