🚨 Neeraj Chopra begins training in Potchefstroom, new coach Jai Chaudhary to join soon!!

As per media reports, two-time Olympic and world medallist Neeraj Chopra has begun his pre-season training camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa, his preferred overseas base, after the Sports Ministry approved a 32-day camp running until February 5.

His new coach, Jai Chaudhary, is expected to join him shortly.

Chopra recently parted ways with Czech legend Jan Železný and has decided to partner with Jai Chaudhary, his first javelin coach, marking a return to familiar guidance.

The total financial assistance sanctioned for the camp stands at ₹11.80 lakh.

Gitson Tharmara of the University of Madras and Karan B of Bharathiar University clocked the fastest times in the men’s 100m heats at the ongoing All India Inter-University Athletics Championships 2026.

Gitson topped Heat 3, while Karan dominated Heat 46, with both athletes timing 10.66s.

A total of 46 heats were conducted, featuring more than 350 athletes, with 22 sprinters qualifying for the 100m semifinals.

The semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow morning, followed by the final later in the evening.

The All India Inter-University men’s 100m record stands at 10.41s, held by V K Elakkiya Dasan since 2018.
