Former trend-centric shopper, now mindful consumer striving for progress over perfection. I’m here to teach you all about intentional shopping, mindful consumerism, and how to make the most of the clothes you already own!
Hey everyone! You might’ve noticed I haven’t posted in a while. The video I uploaded today was actually filmed about two months ago, and I’ve been trying to find the time to upload it for week.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to take an indefinite break from YouTube.
There are a few reasons why:
1. Life has just gotten really busy. I’ve realized I want to spend more intentional time with my friends and family instead of constantly thinking about filming, editing, and uploading. YouTube takes up so much time, and honestly, the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze right now.
2. I tried hiring a video editor to help free up some time, but after going back and forth with revisions (and honestly, not getting the results I wanted), I found it was taking just as long - sometimes even longer - than doing it myself.
3. My channel hasn’t grown in the way I hoped it would. After two years of creating content, it feels like it’s time to come to a close. At least for now. I never started this solely for the money, but the reality is that I’m getting very little back - whether that’s financially or in growth - and it’s hard to justify spending so much of my free time on something that’s taking so much and giving so little in return. Since my channel has grown to an anti-consumption/intentional shopping channel, I’ve turned down many sponsorships that didn’t align with that message, which has also made things less sustainable long-term.
Maybe I’ll be back someday but for now, stepping away feels like the right choice. I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received - from subscribers, friends, and family who’ve encouraged me every step of the way.
All my videos will stay up and I’ll still check in occasionally.
Thank you for understanding and for making this YouTube journey so special.
Hi everyone! I took a really nice break over the past 2ish months and it gave me the opportunity to recharge and recenter.
During this time I came to realize how important it is for me to set boundaries with myself when it comes to how much I work (Youtube included). I've always been a huge workaholic and I'm coming to realize the toll it's had on me mentally and also physically.
I've also had some life changes lately which has made my days more busy. So while I’ll still be here on YouTube (because I truly love it), it might not always be every single week. I’ll do my best, but life happens and I need to honor the fact that I’m human first and sometimes I want to spend time doing other things than researching/scripting/filming.
I also recently hired a video editor to help me out! This is something I’m really grateful for but it also means I need to be thoughtful about how often I post. I’m a small channel and I want to make sure I’m not putting myself in the negative (money wise) just to keep up. I'm hoping to maybe explore some sponsorships in the future but I'm very picky about who I would work with because after all, this is a conscious consumerism channel.
That said, I’m really excited about the direction I’m taking. I’ll continue focusing on conscious consumerism and may start exploring more self-care content as well.
Thank you so much for being here and supporting me. It means the world. I can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Hi friends! I'm feeling a bit burnt out and have some travel coming up this summer so I’m giving myself some space to rest and recharge. I’ll be back on YouTube in August and I already have ideas I’m excited to bring to life. Feel free to drop in the comments any video ideas you'd like to see. Thanks for understanding and being here 🤍
Hi all, there will be no video today! I did my best to edit the video I had planned but this week got very busy and I want to make sure I'm prioritizing quality rather than trying to scramble. I appreciate all of you very much, especially everyone who subscribed after my most recent video.
Thank you for your support and I'll see you next Sunday! Pic of a tiny planer I thrifted recently for tax :)
Happy Sunday everyone! There will be no video today <3
Life is very much happening right now (all is well) and with some unexpected travels I haven't been able to edit the video that was supposed to go up today.
In the meantime, leave a comment below something you're looking forward to this week :)
Hi everyone and a huge welcome to my new subscribers! I love when a video I least expect to do well ends up blowing up. You're all so sweet and I thank you for your support.
I want to know what video you'd like to see next. All of these will be uploaded but let me know which you'd like to see first this Sunday!
1. My birthday thrift haul sharing with you everything I got on a rare trip to the thrift store.
2. Exploring the ethics of resellers. Why people don't like them and honestly, why I think we need to cut them some slack.
3. How to stop treating shopping like therapy. Sharing some advice that helped me with overconsumption and unhealthy shopping habits.
Hey everyone! I want to share with you that I'm scaling back from 2 videos a week to 1 video a week. Here's why.
For over a year now, I’ve been posting 2 videos a week and I truly love it. But lately it’s been taking up more time than I have to spare for other important parts of life. Your girl needs to take care of herself lol.
Moving forward, you can expect a new video from me every Sunday.
Thank you so much for understanding. It genuinely means the world to me that you’ve been here on this journey with me. If there’s anything specific you’d like to see content wise, drop a comment below! I have hundreds of ideas in a spreadsheet but I’d love to know what you'd like to see.
Thanks for being amazing, happy New Year, and I’ll see you every Sunday!
Hi everyone! I'm super excited about today's video "Is Sustainable Luxury a Myth?" I spent many years working alongside luxury brands before I grew an interest in sustainability so this was very interesting to research and share with you all. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it for you!
I've been on the hunt for secondhand 100% cotton wide leg jeans for a while and I finally found some ($9!!). But they did require some mending which I wanted to share with you.
They fit great but the top 4 corners of the back pockets were torn (see pics). I did some research and fixed them by doing a ladder stitch and using denim patch stabilizers on the inside. I think they turned out great! There's some minor flaws from the ladder stitch which caused some "bumps" in the fabric but it's nothing that bothers me. Next step is to hem as they're quite long.
I'm by no means a sewing expert so I'm really proud of myself for doing this.
For the jeans and supplies the total cost was $15 and an hour of my time. I hope this will acts as some mending inspiration!
Edit: also realizing these pics uploaded in backwards order lol, my bad
