I remember being out and about with my kids when they were younger and people telling me, “Cherish this time cause when they get older it changes.”
There was a time I would do things for my children and they would be so appreciative, so loving, so full of words of adoration for their dear father. I miss those days.
Valentine’s Day was yesterday and I gifted my daughters with stuffed animals, chocolate, and gift cards (PLURAL) to their favorite places to eat/shop.
Their response: “Aww cool, thanks dad.”
Their thanks lasted about 3 seconds. No hug, no joy, no one presented me frankincense and myrrh, just nothing 🤷🏽♂️
Now let my daughters receive a $2.29 gift from a boy and now all of a sudden they’re so full, so touched, so moved by such a heroic, loving, and selfless gesture.
Something is wrong if the ONLY time you enjoy a worship service is when you’re featured during the service.
A person will sing in the choir for 8 months and not have one good word to say about how things went on those Sundays. Eight months and not one time have you encouraged anyone else or told someone they did a good job. Eight months of saying how you dont like the pastor’s sermons. Eight months of telling everyone how your cousin Tanya from Texas is a much better singer than the current church worshipleader.
Yet on the Sunday you get to lead a song, you’re on fire for the Lord lol. You head to your car after church and everyone is telling you how great a job you did. You get in your car and decide to write a post on social media.
“Church was so good today! That word was just for me!” #Honored2SERVE
Saw a preview of this movie and the short clip with Mike Epps clip was legit funny👍🏽👍🏽. When I first heard about the movie I had already determined I wasn’t watching it, but the short preview with Mike Epps caused me to change my mind.
Now I knew going in this wasn’t a movie produced by TBN, and I knew Snoop Dogg would probably not be sharing any profound theological statements 😄. So with that being said I expected some language, but the cursing/swearing in this movie was SO forced and so over the top that we cut it off after about ten minutes.
What would you say is a reason you found yourself disengaged during a song selection?
For example, I saw a group sing once and before they even opened their mouths to sing, there were people in the audience who had already disengaged because of the way the group was dressed. I know of another situation where half the audience disengaged because the song went on too long. For some it can be the instruments being too loud. If you’re like me it can be hard to remain engaged when hearing wrong parts being sung 🤷🏽♂️😂.
So again, what would you say is a reason you found yourself disengaged during a song selection??? When you’re in the audience or congregation and a song is going forth, what’s something that can be a “turn off” for you?
Let’s say I really want a car. Eventually I come across a vehicle that really looks good on the outside, so of course I start pursuing the car. I don’t really concern myself with the history of the car, how many miles are on it, why the previous owner gave it up, all I know is this car looks good to me and I really want one.
Now before purchasing the car I start seeing red flags and finding out information that’s not a good look for the car, but like I said I really want a car and I just believe that once I take this car home this car is going to act right by faith 🙌🏾😄. Long story short I purchase the car and post a pic with my new car on Facebook. My pic receives so many likes, so many comments saying congrats, aww man, I’m finally reaping the harvest God promised me!!
After just a week my car decides it doesn’t want to start. A week later my car stops on me while on the expressway. As time passes Im noticing that Im spending more money on repairs than I spent to purchase the car! A couple months later I go outside and discover that my black car is now green 😳😳😳. This car is Legion……it has all kind of issues!
Now knowing the full story of how me and the car got together, how ridiculous would it be for me to blame the enemy, blame my haters, blame the car dealership, blame the car, blame the color green, blame my old church lol, but not take any ownership of the role I played in the situation? We have to stop being so quick to want to put people on blast and play the victim without ever giving any thought to our own bad decisions that are often the cause of the mess we find ourselves in 🤷🏽♂️
There are times when a certain ex of yours may regret letting you go, but please understand there are also probably some exes that have zero regrets about letting you go 🤷🏽♂️.
There may be times when a certain ex sees you with your new boo and that ex finds him or herself wishing to have you back, but let’s be clear there are also some exes that see you with your new boo and they’re relieved 😅.
My point is if you’ve truly moved on, then MOVE ON. Your motivation in life ought not be to make your ex jealous or to show them what they could have had. In some cases your ex knows full well what they could have had and that’s why he or she broke up with you 🤷🏽♂️😂.
You want to post a pic of your new boo? Cool👍🏽👍🏽 but don’t go posting pics simply cause you know the news is somehow going to get back to your ex that doesn’t even follow you anymore on social media. You losing weight and posting selfies? Congrats 🎉 but don’t go posting those weight loss pictures cause you know your ex is engaged to someone that has gained a lot of weight 🤷🏽♂️. You got a new job making big money? Good for you, but stop looking through your likes to see if your ex liked the pic of you in your new work uniform.
Also believe it or not there are some exes that see you winning in life and they are genuinely happy for you. So again I’m writing all this to say, be your best you FOR YOU, not for the reactions of an ex.
Saw a clip of a choir singing a song that didn’t go so well. People automatically criticized the singers and commented stuff like……”They can’t sing”……but please understand it’s not ALWAYS the singers that are at fault. The singers are the easiest to blame because we see and hear them, but sometimes it is actually the directors, the worship leaders, the ministers of music that are at fault. (Yep I said it 🤷🏽♂️😁).
Is the choir really that bad? Or are they poorly taught? Are they poorly prepared?
Is the praise team just not good? Or does them not being good have anything to do with their leader selecting songs that don’t fit the group?
Are the singers not watching the director? Or is it they’re watching the director, but the director isn’t giving clear directions?
Are the singers lazy and always not knowing the lyrics? Or is the problem the fact that not enough time is spent in rehearsal actually rehearsing the song?
Are the singers wrong for not remembering the right parts on the bridge section, or is the minister of music wrong for not telling the singers ahead of time that they would be singing that particular song?
Are the singers wrong because they’re straining and cracking on the high notes, or is the worship leader in the wrong for not being willing to drop the key for the singers because the key was best for the worship leader’s adlibs? 😂
Is the soloist wrong for singing off key? Or is it the sound man who has NOTHING in the soloist’s monitor except for a drum loop? It’s hard to stay in tune when you can’t hear.
I think you get my point 🤷🏽♂️. I’m just saying, sometimes we unfairly blame singers without knowing the whole story. Now of course there are times when singers are just wrong and trifling but we’ll save that conversation for another day 😂

Ever just been casually listening, singing, or playing a song and next thing you know the song has completely wrecked you and now you’re 🙌🏾😭😭 lol.
When was the last time a song snuck up on you and unexpectedly broke you down? What song was it?
