Metal. And lots of it. Welding, forging, fabrication and restoration; expect to see it all. I’m Trent, and this is a look inside my small business: Menard Metal Craft.
It began with the forging of the Great Spikes. 1,728,160 were gifted to the Union Pacific, and 1,427,379 were gifted to four California businessmen who joined together to form the Central Pacific Railroad. For within these spikes was bound the strength and power to govern the rails. But they were deceived. For another spike was made. Deep in the land of Utah, in the fires of Promontory Summit, 4 spikes came together to be cast into the rails. Forever joining the races of man-driven steel machines across the land*

Hi 👋 just saying what’s up and hello to everyone. I seem to go through phases of making content somewhat frequently and then I get in a groove with my head down cranking out orders and a week or 3 goes by and I realize I haven’t engaged much with the communities that allow me to be here in the first place. So, thanks for being here. How have you been? - Trent
It’s almost like… it was expected…. Okay well maybe I was the only one under the impression the entire time that when the time came it was going to disappear; but that time has come, and it did disappear! With that I am thankful for the ride it was, and the catalyst to my content creation career (if you could call it that). I am also thankful that I took the time to get these screen recordings and screen shots that are used in the linked video below while I still could. It’s almost a nostalgic feeling now of a time long ago. How long? Just a few hours at the moment. If you need your fix, watch this video. Thanks for being here with me. - Trent
Alright, I’m really going to try and stay consistent with these longer videos this year, and I think these basic how to videos are probably a good series to start with. I am open to, and actively looking for feedback on these. What aspects should I expand on? What production quality needs improvement? What should I do a How-To video on next? I realize I’ve built quite the community through the YouTube shorts feature(which I am incredibly grateful for), and I would love to connect with you all more so on these longer format videos coming forward. Thank you all. You guys are the absolute best. Much love. - Trent
Happy New year! I’m looking forward to 2025 and the exciting potential for new things. Thank you for 265,000 followers! I am incredibly grateful and feel blessed and want to utilize this to its full potential and hope to continue to grow and learn and share along the way. Thank you, I appreciate you, a lot. - Trent
New Short video up of this nail puzzle being twisted up. These can be as fun and challenging to make as they are to solve. That being said.. once you figure it out, it’s relatively simple. But just like solving it, each subtle movement in creating it (gaps between the twist, starting point, size of loop, etc.) will drastically change the chances of a successful outcome. Not trying to hide any secrets on this one; in fact I would encourage you to go twist some nails up yourself just for the fun mental challenge it can be. Enjoy.
The spikes from the Monster Vs Vinegar video. Far left is the Monster spikes, middle is the vinegar, and the right is some rusty spikes for comparison.
Marriage is also like a garden; it requires planting roots, watering and nurturing those planted roots, and weeding the unwanted weeds that come about over time. With the proper tools and care and attention, you can have a fruitful garden.. or marriage . These items were a wedding present for a good friend of mine who’s wedding I recently attended.
Here are some mock up install photos of the barn door handles that you may have seen being bent up via YouTube shorts. Special thanks to those placing orders and allowing me to continue doing what I do and share it all with you. I appreciate the support 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I recently went through the entirety of my short videos, and organized them into playlist categories such as “railroad spike projects”, “scrap metal projects” etc. In doing so I noticed I have never shared this little scrap tractor build I did. This is modeled after a 1969 Case 431 tractor (as seen in the 4th slide) and was mad primarily from used parts reclaimed from a forklift repair shop. Any residual paint on these parts are factory original. This build also utilizes a railroad clip, a railroad spike for the seat, as well as a railroad date nail for the steering wheel (dated 1941).
That video of this here build is now posted as a YouTube short. Thanks for watching / reading / commenting!
