The last floor of the semi-abandoned Soviet observatory - Radio Optical Telescope - ROT54 finished in the 80's in Orgov Armenia (formerly in USSR).

The ambitious project was proposed by the Armenian engineer Paris Herouni in 1964, however the construction works started in 1975 and it was finished in 1986. The observatory was only active from 1987 till 1990 due to breakup of the USSR and wars in Caucasus thus lack of funding of the project, nowadays Herouni's niece is starting an ambitious plan to restore the project, so hopefully the telescope will be operating again!
