I know, they look awful but are rock solid. Bad earth issues caused a lot of splatter no matter how much I adjusted the settings. In the end, welded a new plate to both panels and put the earth clamp which provided better results. Used a borescope camera and no pin holes and good penetration.

July 1991 I saw this very car in my dad's garage for the first time and it was the only car my dad bought new.
Coming from a 1974 Audi 100 that was giving all sorts of trouble, the Rover felt very modern and refined. I was very proud too as Rover was seen in Portugal as a more prestigious and premium car compared to other mainstream brands.
Sadly the car was gone in 2013 (date of the above picture) after my dad's passibg in 2012. The car fell in disrepair when he was diagnosed with Alzheimers a few years earlier.

Unfortunately, no Rustival for me in September. In fact, no more car shows this year. Work on the E12 progressing very slowly and I haven't had as much time as I wanted to work in it. Also, family event that day and too tight to attend both due to distance.

Facebook reminded me that 16 years ago I finished stripping the E30 and took the car back home after using a nearby barn to do the work.
This was a car the really kicked off my YouTube video making back in 2010, but sadly stopped for nearly 9 years after the E30 restoration project stopped due to life circumstances.
At the time, my daily driver was this very early 1992 BMW 318is Coupé.

The first video in over 6 weeks was actually made in 2023 with added items done a fee days ago.
My wife's Focus Mk3 Ecoboost had the EML on and after some head scratching and trial and error i managed to root the cause as a catalytic converter failure. A job that was easy enough to do at home and saved hundreds of £'s in the process:
