As a carat, I'm gonna address the minghao situation going on cus why are people creating their own narratives and bashing a person so much? For context, Minghao used a song by anoter artist who didn't give any credits. He didn't remix the hymn himself. He used a sample of a song that was made by another artist. That artist used that hymn as a sample in that song. He probably didn't know as it was a sample in the song. Considering he's from a country which has no major muslim population, his knowledge on that would be limited since there's a lot of religions out there.The mistake was unintentional but yes he should be held accountable for his mistake which is why carats are trying to tag him and educate him on the matter. Oh dare I say some fandoms out there are completely unaware of the whole story and bashing him js cus they hate seventeen? Yes I'm talking about you armys (some, as my experience). Lmao i don't get the obsession SOME armys have with seventeen like didn't your idols perform WAYY more problematic stuff? Go worry about that. "Oh you're just defending anything seventeen does" no I'm not defending him. Obviously he did it unintentionally, doesn't mean he's in the right. The thing which is bothering me a lot is how some people are acting like they don't make a mistake at all and are perfect angles. ALSOO, why is no one bashing the og artist????? Why is Minghao receiving so much hate while the actual artist is not?(Not saying either of them should) But instead of hating on a person let's be aware of the whole story first <3
Normalize fact-checking and looking into context instead of blindly repeating whatever you heard around the timeline and reposting them as truth. Half information and word-of-mouth narratives do nothing but mislead people and spread misinformation. Obviously once again not defending his actions. I really do wish he addresses the situation and apologises in the end.
I would also like to point out that china has strict regulations on using religious songs, hymns etc in public and I would like to belive that minghao or his team or the organisers did not intentionally used the song with ill intentions. It all comes down to lack of knowledge tbh, we ourselves most of the time don't have much knowledge about other cultures, beliefs and religion outside our own unless we go out of our way to gain knowledge. Again I'm not muslim or have knowledge about the religion so please forgive me. I'm just saying people are so quick to assume the worst and hating on a person who doesn't know about your religion instead of educating him is being an ass. You're not so innocent <3
