In Full Transparency: Sorry for the Lame & Emotional Stream & my behavior.
Hey friends. Sorry about the livestream earlier. I shouldn't have even tried. I just woke up from a 5 hour "nap". I was emotionally fired up to talk about how fishkeeping quite literally helped save my life, especially when I quit drinking 17 years ago, but even more 12 years ago when I delt with a relapse of several days and needed to re-center and recommit to my path in life.
Since Friday I have been mostly MIA from youtube because I've been in a hospital with one of my closest friends and family members, whom is on full lifesupport ( heart, breathing, dialysis, brain monitor... needless to say he is all but gone now). The culprit being alcohol and street opiates, likely F. N. T. ( sorry youtube censors things often)
I was a wreck earlier, during our livestream earlier... I started off okay, but ended up basically sleep walking and talking after I arrived home from the hospital and not getting much of any sleep the last 2 days.
LUCKILY- I was just approved for Dupixent, a very pricey medication for autoimmune disorders, and insurance battled me for 3 years, until finally we have access to it- and I recieved my first infusion ( 2 injections) friday morning ( not good timing, but, hey since when did life ever care about our planning?)
In any case, due to reactions to the medication in some folks, ive been taking antihistamines and anxiety medications, usually betta blockers and or trazadone, to try and sleep/ stop anxiety attacks and jitters.
Back to the more serious issue:
Sadly I have to go say some final goodbyes to someone very close to me, my entire life, who has technically now mentally passed away ( tomorrow the organ donation team is arriving early, from what ive been told.).
Something in my brain said " Ill use this as a cautionary tale and perhaps share how I once battled alcohol and opiate abuse , and how many extremely close friends and family members it has taken, as well as how many recovery community friends and support groups I have found via working with aquariums, fish, aquascaping and nature.
It was far too fresh and quite frankly I was intoxicated. I had just been dropped off after far too many hours in "go mode", relaying info and calling our friends and family.
I emotionally and mentally crashed and while anxiety meds are one "intoxicant" I take under my doctor's care still, It just levels me out emotionally and physically most of the time. However, by an hour into the livestream i was just a zombie, and it impacted me unlike it normally would. Since I take a low dose of one, after taking high dose prednisone... and or methyltrexate ( if you know, you know. Shout out to my autoimmune compromised people).
Anyhow, the new infusion, being up most of 2 days, emotions and adrenaline all gave out mid stream... and I feel like I wasted folks time, so I want to apologize and also be transparent since we were talking about recovery and substance abuse.
In any case, you all are amazing and supportive despite me being a sobbing half awake mess, and I appreciate the compassion and understanding, but I need to also check-in with my support system and reshuffle some things, because I rewatched the video ( which ive taken down because 40% of it is useless and paints a bad picture, that i wish not to represent the way i try and conduct myself).
Bottom line, im going to keep putting family, my health, and my recovery first. While antiimmune medication, antihistamines and anxiety/beta blockers are not a 'chemical dependency', they did incapacitate me from my normal self, in this case, and I dont plan on allowing that to reoccur, seeing as my CTE/head trauma is enough of a challenge to my mental lucidity and clarity.
I love yall, thanks for being awesome and all your support... ill return shortly ( I need to keep mentally busy with something possitive anyhow!).
I want to lead by example, and if i felt out of control, or embarrassed, its because im off the proper path, so i need to "rally the wagons" and safety systems in my life... including trying to be honest with all of you! And make sure im doing things the optimal way, or taking the time to focus on one massive life struggle or goal at a time.

There is a fish that farms... and that has domesticated livestock as well!
Yes. You read that correctly- there are fish that have domesticated a shrimp species, via selective breeding and husbandry. The Shrimp even have active Dmrt-1 gene markers, like domestic farm animals, cats and dogs! All while also carrying for botanical plots that makeup nearly 100% of their caloric food intake!
So even though I wish I had produced this lovely little documentary, I want to share it with all yall, my fishy friends!
