A nine hour delay before the train even arrived. A Second AC coach with cockroaches wandering the berths, and a mouse that crossed the floor like it belonged there more than I did.

A fellow passenger, running a high fever, fell asleep holding his bag close. When he woke, his laptop, his cards, and the keys to his own home were gone. No police came. The only response was a complaint filed over the phone, into a system that leads nowhere.

Thirty six hours after I first reached the station, filled with excitement for a journey home, I stepped onto the platform at Kakinada, tired in a way that had nothing to do with distance.

We keep hearing about the transformation underway in Indian Railways. This journey asked a simple question instead: if this is what a premium fare buys, what exactly am I paying for?

From the hands of the poet to the hands of her readers.

Bruises and Butterflies by Dr. Anamika Nath is now fresh off the press.

What began with a childhood poem in Agartala has grown into a literary journey that has taken her writing to international stages, brought recognition from readers and literary institutions, and now culminates in the arrival of her own book.

The cover was unveiled in Athens during the Global Vision Summit 2026. Today, the finished volume is finally here.

For Dr. Anamika Nath, this is more than the publication of another book. It is the coming together of two deeply personal worlds. Her life in forensic medicine has brought her close to the realities of human suffering, while poetry has given her a language for the emotions that remain after the facts have been recorded.

We at Writers International Edition are deeply proud to have been entrusted with this work and to see Bruises and Butterflies take its place in the world as a book.

Congratulations, Dr. Anamika Nath. The pages are ready. The journey now belongs to the readers.

What happens to gender equality when a society enters a crisis?

Does equality remain a priority when economies collapse, social systems come under pressure, and communities face uncertainty?

“Gender, Crisis, and the European Union” by Vasiliki P. Meleti, Panagiotis N. Nikolopoulos, and Panagiota S. Papakonstantinou explores these questions through the intersection of gender studies, European social policy, human rights, and political and social sciences.

The study examines the gendered consequences of the financial crisis in Greece, austerity, the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic and gender-based violence, migrant women’s vulnerabilities, and women’s participation in political and institutional decision-making.

Published by Writers’ International Edition Publishing House under the auspices of Writers Capital International Foundation, the work is also registered as an official university textbook on the EUDOXUS platform.

A significant academic contribution to the continuing conversation on gender equality, democracy, human rights, and the future of Europe.

Gender equality cannot be treated as a priority only in times of stability.

Some bonds are not broken by death. They simply become invisible.

Grief changes the way we see the ordinary. A familiar place, a photograph, a song, or a name can suddenly bring back everything we thought we had learned to live without.

In this week's Whispers Between the Lines, Dr Janatha Ramanathan reflects on the sudden loss of a beloved younger brother, and on grief, memory, love, and the quiet strength of those who stay beside us when words are no longer enough.

Are you the next Luminary to be featured across our channels?

MEET THE LUMINARIES is not an open mic. It is a curated stage reserved for the finest minds of our time, the writers who have shaped generations, the thinkers who questioned what everyone else accepted, the artists, scientists, humanitarians, and visionaries whose work has already outlived the moment it was made in.

Each episode reaches audiences across every continent, carried on YouTube and across our full network of social channels, placing our guests among a distinguished circle of global voices who have sat at this table before them.

This is not an interview. It is a conversation befitting those whose contribution to the world deserves to be recognised on the largest possible stage.

If your work has left a mark, if your name belongs among those who lead rather than follow, the seat is waiting.
