I’ll be honest, I don’t really know who my audience is anymore or what you all want to see from me. What type of videos interest you the most on my channel? I feel like trying to appeal to everyone ends up appealing to no one… so I’d rather focus on what you actually enjoy.
Not sure what is happening with the algorithm but I finally finished the Twist Villains video that many of you voted for. It is discouraging to see such little views. This is actually the first video on my channel to hit just 570 views in 24 hours. Yikes, especially after battling so much copyright just to get it published. If you would like to help support my work, leaving a comment after watching or pledging one dollar or more on Patreon would mean a lot. Otherwise I cannot sustain this level of content.
I'm quitting Indie Animation next year. After 2025 I will be stepping away from indie animation permanently. I have two more projects left, Julissa's Hidden Island and another unnamed project, and then I am done.
As much as I love creating, it is no longer affordable. Without donations or support I simply cannot sustain myself or my work. I have tried everything I could and exhausted all my options.
It has also become incredibly hard to reach audiences. The algorithms work against small creators, and I know even this post probably will not be seen by many despite my channel's subscriber count. No matter how hard I try to fund real animated stories, it is just not enough.
I even put out credit rolls for my upcoming film to help support it, and do you want to know how many people wanted a spot? Zero. That was the final sign I needed.
I wish I could one day bring back The Beatboxing Puppy, or even turn Our Drawings into a mini show. But I am done. I will quietly support other indie creators from the sidelines as a fan now.
