Pulled out all the old bedding, laid down a thick layer of fresh straw, and the girls immediately claimed their new kingdom.
If you’ve never done a full coop clean-out before, the chickens go absolutely nuts for it. Scratching, digging, fluffing… basically turning it into their own little spa day.
Healthy coop = happy chickens = better eggs.
Sometimes the simple homestead stuff makes the biggest difference.

And honestly… this one hurt a little.
Our lettuce never sprouted.
Our garlic never came up.
So instead of pretending everything’s perfect, we grabbed the camera and walked the garden to figure out what actually went wrong.
Because this whole homestead journey?
It’s a lot of learning as we go.

Three generations.
One chicken coop.
My mom came down from the U.S.
And instead of going out somewhere fancy…
We fed chickens.
My son won’t remember this exact moment.
But he’ll grow up remembering that feeding animals is normal.
Growing food is normal.
Being outside is normal.
That’s the real win.
Not the views.
Not the numbers.
Moments like this.
