🏆🐔 THE CHICKENS HAVE SPOKEN.

We wanted to answer one very important question...

Which kitchen scrap do our chickens ACTUALLY like the most?

So naturally, we turned it into an entire competition. 😂

🍅 Tomatoes
🫛 Peas
🍎 Apples
🥬 Lettuce

Some got demolished.

Some got a questionable reaction.

And one got absolutely DISRESPECTED. 😂

Eventually it came down to our final two, and we let the chickens settle it themselves.

For a long time... that was our excuse.
The truth is, we don't own this property. We rent it.

That means there are things we can't build. Projects we have to simplify. Investments we have to think twice about.

But we've realized something...
The skills don't care who owns the land.
Every tomato we grow. Every chicken we care for. Every compost pile we build. Every mistake we make.

...is preparing us for the day we finally step onto our dream property.
So instead of waiting for "someday," we're choosing to learn now.

🍅 IT'S HAPPENING!

We've officially got tomatoes starting to ripen! 🌿
One gardening tip that's worked really well for us...

I usually harvest my tomatoes when they reach the breaker stage—when they're about halfway from green to red.

At that point, they'll continue ripening indoors, which helps reduce the chances of pests, birds, cracking, or disease getting to them before I do.

Plus... it means we get to enjoy our first homegrown tomatoes just a little sooner. 😄
It's amazing seeing all the work finally paying off.

How do you harvest your tomatoes? Do you wait until they're fully vine-ripened or pick them at the breaker stage?

🥔🌱 THIS POTATO PLANT IS GROWING LIKE CRAZY!

It feels like we just showed y’all the first little sprout, and now it’s already spreading out and putting on a ton of new growth.

We’ve added another layer of compost around the plant to keep feeding it and continue building up the potato tower as it grows.

Now the big experiment really starts:

Can we turn this one small space into pounds of homegrown potatoes?

We’ll keep documenting every stage all the way through harvest, so make sure you’re following along. This little plant has places to be apparently. 😂🥔
