I thought of this: You can also contribute in the selection of pieces here by sending me recommendations of pieces that are similar to what I normally upload here. Ideally, you have a folder of beautiful pdf's somewhere, that contains pieces that I never played and that you consider great to be uploaded on Gamma. So ideally you also have a quick look by typing here "[piece name] gamma1734" to check if I already played it or not. Also ideally you can directly provide me the pdf. So, since you follow my channel I believe that there is at least some kind of knowledge too on your end about this kind of music, about this niche. I think there's a lot of potential to share our knowledge that way. I'm also working and thinking a lot about a long time solution with sharing the scores. There are many factors to consider about this, that many might be unaware. But yeah, I'll keep it short, thanks for reading ---
I talk about my motivations and how I came up with the channel. If you are a viewer of the channel it might be interesting to read. Who am I behind all this and so on. It's in German but there's surely a way to automatically translate it.
Hi folks, I hope you can wrap up this year nicely and don't get stressed too much with all Christmas preparations and work :) You know, I work hard to play all pieces for the channel, we're at exactly 2600 videos now. I've been uploading regularly since 7 or 8 years now. And I'm still feeling fresh as the first day! My main motivation is really the music itself. However, I also appreciate a lot your support - let it be helpful mails, comments, likes, and donations. I wanted to take the time to explicitly thank you for you financial support: Klaus E., Heinz K., Eloisa S., Alexander T., Cadenza C., Vaclav M., Alessandra P., Cool C., Aleksandr M., Ashon McL., and many more. I am actually searching for a job at the moment, but don't worry, I'm fine. And still this support does help me out in my current situation. Stay healthy and wish you the best:) gamma
Here's a list of Midi Controllers I have bought/sold and used so far
Yamaha DGX 530 (first videos of Channel on 100$ keyboard, that's why Im replaying them now)
Yamaha P45 (For it's price pretty good)
Yamaha ES8 (Again, for it's price (at that time) really good performance actually.)
Kawai CA98 (Too expensive for what I got out of it)
Kawai CA49 (Liked it initially but sold it not long after having it, something was off with how it felt)
Studiologic SL88 (Nothing for me.)
Kawai E200ATX (Really good, but high price point obviously. Had strange limitations regarding loud dynamics and Midi felt like it didn't go through smoothly, was strange Sometimes).
Kawai VPC1 (Current choice.)
From all of these, I feel the best with my current choice, the VPC1 (although there are still many limits to what I can express with that instrument).
1) Happy new year! I hope you had a nice time in the last weeks and could relax a bit. A photo with the nice austrian mountains, my new year.
2) Also thank you for your positive feedback on the "Goodbye 2023" video. I really enjoyed reading your comments and positive messages. I also appreciate the financial support that some of you give, thanks!
3) As a reminder, and to all that are new on the channel (hi!): yes, it is true, I play every piece and video myself on my digital piano at home. In fact I made this little competition with myself, that there is not even a single video where it's other people playing, although I sometimes had video ideas about that. I could definitely express creativity but I'm not sure it still belongs on Gamma1734. We're at 2319 videos now, doing this for 7 years. Well we won't run out of music to play, that's for sure! I thought it's maybe an idea to do a 24/7 style livestream with videos from my channel. Then you can drop by for a minute or 2 and listen to some "random", nice, unknown romantic music that I played. Then you can save it for later if you like it etc. I think the idea has something. Many great pieces are now "hidden" under the weight of all the new uploads, but it really doesn't mean they are bad (except maybe the very old videos :)). Whenever I find I channel that I like, I also struggle to explore it, especially if there are many videos. Since this is about music, a continuous stream could work just fine. Basically as a help to explore the channel and music.
4) Apart from that, I have no big vision or changes for the channel. I'll probably just continue uploading whatever I find on the internet. This process is by the way almost more time consuming than playing and making the videos! Also occasional plugin reviews.
5) I still use mainly Garritan CFX as piano VST and the sites Tarakanov (at lot recently), imslp, ale07 dot ru and pianophilia for the videos (and the "new scans" that I made myself from the local library).
Ok, just those points as a little message. Take care!
Hi all! I'm actually on vacation in September. This is San Francisco, but I'll also be in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas and so on. See you back in October and take care! Some videos will be uploaded as I pre produced them.
