Alessandro ha mostrato la rapidissima evoluzione della piattaforma con i pesanti aggiornamenti rilasciati tra maggio e giugno 2026:

It was an exceptional evening checking out how Microsoft’s "Agentic Era" and Databricks' AI innovations are revolutionizing the data landscape, especially with the game-changing releases from May and June 2026.
Here are the key takeaways from the speakers' sessions:
🌌 **Microsoft Fabric: The Enterprise Breakthrough** (Introduced by Alessandro Gherardi)
Alessandro showcased the rapid evolution of the platform with the major updates released over the last two months:
* **Fabric Apps for Semantic Models (New in June 2026):** A revolutionary framework that lets you build data-centric web apps directly on top of semantic models, seamlessly inheriting all business logic and governance.

From "More AI" to "Better AI" – Insights from Erlangen!



I recently had the pleasure of attending the Data & AI Inspiration Day at our Innovation Center of Siemens Healthineers in Erlangen alongside my colleague Giorgia Diglione. It was a truly energising day, and I want to extend a huge thank you to Luca Camela and the entire team for the flawless organisation. in addtion, it was pleasure to discuss with Lukas-Valentin Herm about similar use-cases how solving different scenarios in business with data analytics.



AI is moving fast—shifting from isolated pilots to integrated, real-world workflows. But as we discussed throughout the day, the next level for Siemens Healthineers isn’t just about "more AI." It’s about better AI: governed, measurable, and built on the solid data foundations of our Healthineers Data Cloud.



It was especially inspiring to see colleagues from across business departments and IT come together to exchange perspectives. Together, we explored how a strong data and AI ecosystem fuels innovation and delivers tangible value.



Highlights included:

An inspiring keynote from our Head of IT, Stefan Henkel, on scaling Data & AI to drive real business impact.

A cross-business panel discussion with senior leaders on what it takes to make impact "real."

Industry perspectives from healthcare technology experts on ground-breaking applications.

Joint Siemens Healthineers × Snowflake success stories—like those from SCANIA, SANOFI, and FORTUM—showcasing how data-driven strategies reduce costs and accelerate "time-to-insight."



My three key takeaways:

1. Speed to Value: We are seeing a massive shift where teams can move from a business question to a usable prototype in hours, not weeks. This changes how we test assumptions and improve decision-making in complex operational scenarios.

2. Responsible AI is a Requirement: With the EU AI Act setting risk-based expectations, "responsible AI" has moved from a "nice-to-have" to a practical requirement. Trust and accountability are now at the heart of our strategy.

3. The Winning Formula: Success isn't found in the hype; it’s built on clear business outcomes, strong data governance as the baseline, and human oversight to ensure decisions remain traceable and trusted.



As we continue this journey to become a more data- and AI-driven company, I’m curious to hear from my network:

✨️ More conferences, more knowledge.

I’ve always admired PhD students who attend many conferences — it’s not just about research, but also about networking and sharing knowledge.

Although I’m not a PhD student, I wanted to experience the same spirit. So I asked ChatGPT to find the closest data-related conference near Milan (where I live), and that’s how I discovered the Data Ticino Conference — hosted at the Acer headquarters in Lugano.

Some of the standout sessions for me:

“Introducing DAX User-Defined Functions (UDF)” by Marco Russo — a powerful deep dive into advanced DAX techniques.

“Beyond Version Control: GitHub Actions for Power BI Development” by Dániel Gábor Patkós — bridging DevOps tools with analytics workflows.

“An opinionated guide to development practices for Semantic Models” by Greg Baldini — practical, insightful, lively presentation.

It turned out to be an amazing experience! I finally met people I usually see only on YouTube — including Marco Russo, one of the top experts in data modeling.

I also spoke with a representative at the Tabular Editor stand, who explained everything so clearly that I later discovered he was actually one of the founders — Greg Baldini. He was also a speaker, and his presentation flowed like a podcast — clear, positive, and full of energy.

I loved his attitude and was surprised to learn that his background is in economics — like many other data experts I met. It’s inspiring to see how professionals from different fields grow into top data analytics experts.

I also met Giuseppe D'errico from Gruppo San Donato, another passionate data analyst as well as ...
We hoped to meet even more analysts, but time flew by too fast — looking forward to the next edition!

One thing I really appreciated was the organization: each session had a 15-minute break to socialize, reflect, and connect. That’s what makes a conference truly valuable.

Great work to all the organizers and PowerBI user Group Italy 👏
