Just a few things I want to get off my chest about the latest video. First and foremost, I apologize for the editing errors; they were my oversight. I have not been attentive enough to my editing and final watch-through. I will improve in the future.
Many are upset about my pronunciation of Gneisenau. I assure you all that it is as correct as I can get it. https://youtu.be/uCJfAIHpiOI?si=QNKYh... I use this video as much as I can (thanks Drach)
My claim that Gneisenau was the largest ship to be raised in 1951 comes from Daniel Knowles in his book Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, as well as period sources. After further examination, I think I need to say that I have been duped. The period claims are from Polish sources that appear to be taking a particular angle, essentially serving as propaganda pieces. So essentially, Knowles took the statement at face value, and so did I. Larger ships, like the American battleships at Pearl Harbor, were raised and returned to service. The title is now accurate, but the statement in the video remains, so I would like to apologize.
Let's dive into a classic debate: what is the greatest battleship of all time? There are a lot of opinions out there, and I'm curious what you all have to say. In my opinion, to gauge what the best battleship of all time is, you have to look at their combat history, and so I think Warspite is the greatest. Let me know what you think!
Hello everyone, happy Sunday! Just out of curiosity, how many of you saw yesterday's video in your feed? It seems YouTube is up to its old tricks again. I know I probably complain a lot but that was one of the worst performing videos I've had in years.
I just wanted to let you know I've decided to take down this past weekend's video on U-boats. It wasn't doing great, and I wasn't in love with the subject. The information might get repurposed in the future for a video on Operation Deadlight, or this one might come back in a revised format. I'll let you know in the future. Anyway, we'll have some midweek offering in compensation :)
It's been a minute since I asked you all what kind of content you want to see on the channel! I reviewed the subjects you all seem to enjoy and put them here. Please, put what you want to see down in the comments below! I will be more than happy to pick from your suggestions!
I wanted to make a quick apology. Unbeknownst to me, YouTube had turned on 10x more midroll ads than I intended to put in a video. Typically, I place 2 inside a video (my videos are usually 20 minutes long). YouTube had the mid-roll ads on the automatic setting. So there were way more than I wanted over the past couple of weeks. If you turned the video off early because of that, I apologize. I'll be more mindful and have turned that setting off.
