First new Fawn of the season on the property seen last night, June 4th at 8pm viewed with binoculars. Can’t wait to see if any trail cameras picked up some video.
The mother Doe was trying to stash the Fawn in the tall grass for the evening. This little one is feisty though and kept running about and wouldn’t stay put. Finally the tiny Fawn sat and put its head down and disappeared into the grass as the mother grazed nearby. Such a joy to observe!😊🦌👍

Springtime is upon us, always glorious to see the young wildlife! I’m seeing Fledgling Crested Caracaras. It won’t be long before Fawns and Fox Kits will be here! Adult Crested Caracara(orange beak, stark black feathers) & beautiful Juvenile(gray-blue beak, brown feathers).
