Hello precious people! I hope you are having a blessed day! I have exciting news! I’m opening my own art studio! This is a huge deal from me. I’ve been looking for a space I can go to create art away from the busy home life of pets, people, and chores. I started looking for a space a few months ago. Sadly I could not find space to rent. Then I saw a building for sale and was so excited! I got my financing together to go make an offer but someone else bought it. 😭 It was sad but probably for the best. Was I even ready for such a big commitment? I was still in need of a studio space. I wanted to create in peace. But I realized I wanted community and a place to offer classes. I met a wonderful lady, Kari Ransome, who has a thriving art business named Coastal Makers. She already had a full calendar of classes being offered in Mobile. I asked if I could use her Baldwin County location to teach classes. She said yes! So I taught a few classes for a few months. It was great and I’m hoping to teach more classes there soon. But I also want my own place to offer pop up classes, rent out studio space to others and host a gallery night. I’ve even envisioned open studio days where artists can came hang out and create together. After discussing it over with my hubby we decided to convert our rental into the art studio. I’m in the process of getting furniture in there. I’m also looking to fix up a few things too. One step at a time. My plan is to host my January watercolor class there on the 12th.
