calling the pjo editing community‼️

i think a lot of us know that recently more and more people have been stealing edits

i think i’ve been tagged by 4 or 5 people (tysm to them) like in the past two weeks informing me someone has stolen one or more of my edits

if anyone didn’t know i have a fairly popular capcut account and i was posting on there for around a year before i even started youtube so i’ve been on there for quite some time

when these edits are stolen the majority of them are capcut edits and as someone who has a LOT of experience with this i wanted to say a few things since the issue of stealing edits seems very pressing as of recently

“capcut is template app so they’re technically not stealing?”

while this is true the majority of stolen videos have watermarks of the original creators which is already a sign this is not posted to capcut with the intent of being used and reposted. not to mention my watermark (as well as others) specifically states “no reposting” which is another dead give away of like..don’t use this edit 😭

i would also like to be a voice for all capcut creators who don’t have youtube. for many pjo fans, capcut is the only platform where they can share their edits of a series that they love, they just want to post edits. it just so happens no matter what you do, the edits can be used, even if that wasn’t the intent.

i put countless hours and thought in to my edits and for someone to click a few buttons to replace the photos, repost it and take credit for it, and then have the edit, that i slaved away on, get more likes than mine is so so annoying and disheartening

so many people have been incredibly kind and reached out to me when they noticed my video was stolen and i can’t thank those people enough

MY POINT IS we can’t let this stealing capcut edits culture continue, if you see an edit that’s clearly cropped weird, has someone’s else’s watermark, etc. pls pls pls do what you can to make it clear this edit is stolen, and if you can, reach out to the original creator.
