You can now order the color studies as prints from 14 x 6 inches up to 72 x 31 inches: bit.ly/color-study-prints
If you are a tea or coffee drinker, you can also order 11 oz, 15 oz, and 20 oz coffee mugs here: bit.ly/color-study-coffee-mugs. Having ordered from Zazzle for years, I really appreciate their quality and the flexibility of three size options.
Thank you for nudging me to do this, @eliseevensen1750!
Hi all! I need your input. Before I make a video about polyester canvas, do you have any questions you'd like answered that aren't in this article? www.nikitacoulombe.com/polyester-canvas-options
Semi-drying oils like safflower, sunflower, and poppyseed may offer better color clarity but here's a good example of a trade-off. Related video: www.youtube.com/shorts/mfF6b4...#oilpainting
Transparent colors can take oil paintings to the next level by adding luminosity to opaque colors as well as a glow to previous layers thanks to the light that passes through them. I've mixed the primary, complementary, and secondary color combinations of Nickel Azo Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta, and Phthalo Blue and compiled them into a color chart, which you can view and download for free: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1nfmi13g08kt16nj1mzkz/Trans…
If Dropbox is being weird or asks you to sign in, the PDF is also in the Color Palettes folder on my site: www.nikitacoulombe.com/files
I'm going to publish a few more short videos highlighting some of the combinations and I'll make a long form video as well.
💥 I've been testing out Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paints (same manufacturer as Golden acrylic paints) and am really impressed! They are on par with Michael Harding and Rublev and I've added them to my preferred pigments list, which you can view and download as a PDF here: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/eg3k4e431c9rzrqxvmmas/Prefe…
If you are having difficulty accessing Dropbox, I've also uploaded a copy to my site in the Color Palettes folder: www.nikitacoulombe.com/files
The wonderful folks over at ‪@GoldenPaints‬ have created an acrylic and oil color matching tool. If you want to explore color mixing and matching, definitely check it out. You can upload reference photos or select a color from the color picker panel. One of the best parts is that you can get mix suggestions based on the paints you already have: goldenartistcolors.com/mixer-overview#colormixing#paintmixing
You can now set my paintings as the background on your TV. I've uploaded much of my work to Artcast, which you can download directly from the app store on your smart TV or streaming device like Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV. If you have a Google Chromecast, you can stream from the Artcast app on your Android phone or tablet. There is a free subscription option: artcast.tv/#artcast
