I am a biomedical scientist navigating the transition from graduate school to industry. On this channel, I share reflections on what I am learning and growth in my career in real time without pretending to have it all figured out. I hope these reflections help other international students around the world find steadier footing in their own career journeys.

I wrote this article over a year ago, sharing my reflections on how puzzling it can be to choose a specialization in the vast world of science and likely so in many other fields. Looking back now, I still hold the same perspective and even more strongly believe that "specialization" can sometimes be a facade.
While the popular phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of none" might hold some truth in it, I think that every early-career professional should have the opportunity to explore multiple interests. The career world, especially within the scientific community, should equally encourage this by creating environments that support and value people with diverse and evolving interests.
