Join DivasAI, EWU's Platform Helping Find Missing People with Drone Tech

In just one month of being live, our platform has already helped locate a missing person using drone imagery.

Now we're taking it to the next level, building a system that can analyze massive drone datasets in real time to find more people, faster.

We're looking for full-stack engineers experienced with:

- React, Next.js, Firebase, AWS
- AI / YOLO object detection
- Tile-streaming servers for large-scale mapping and imagery
- SAR (Search and Rescue) experience is a plus, but not required

Missing Man Located Through EWU's DivasAI.com Platform

We have an important update to share.

One of our DivasAI users has located Ryan Jeremy Carter Laxague, and law enforcement has now positively identified him. Sadly, Ryan was found deceased.

After Ryan went missing near Jumbo Grade in Washoe Valley, Nevada, on September 2nd, 2025, we launched a search effort through DivasAI, a platform developed by our team at EWU to assist in real-world missing persons searches.

EWU's search team spent a month on-the-ground capturing 30,000+ drone photos of the area. Volunteers from across the world then joined in, helping us search a vast area in record time: scanning, tagging, and reviewing every frame.

That collective effort led to this discovery.

We want to extend a special thank you to 775 Offroad & Recovery, a nonprofit community organization that generously shared their detailed search maps.

We also want to acknowledge Ryan's mother, who provided important information and context that helped guide the search, and whose strength through all of this has been deeply felt by everyone involved.

We're also grateful to Ryan's friends and family who shared insights that helped narrow our search.

While this search has concluded, DivasAI continues to support new and ongoing missing person cases.

We've uploaded thousands of drone images from our search for Ryan Jeremy Carter Laxague, who disappeared near Jumbo Grade in Washoe Valley, Nevada just weeks ago on September 2nd, 2025.

His truck and belongings were later found, but Ryan himself has not been located.

Somewhere in these photos could be the clue that changes everything.

The more people that join, the faster we can search: by default, the platform only shows you unviewed images.

For example, if 100 people joined and reviewed just 20 images each, we'd cover a huge area quickly.

That's the kind of impact you'd expect from having 1,000 people out there on the ground, right now.

Please note: the search platform currently works best on a computer.
