Rita's Roost and The Limping Old Farmer
My 4 year old granddaughter Millie spent the afternoon with me and Grandpa Terry yesterday, we did some work on the building, and she watched us. After we kinda got tired and came into the house, I wanted her to sit quietly with us. She did when i turned on a YouTube video of the cajun Bruce Mitchell making Chicken n dumplins, we all watched him. and Millie critiqued him...and many times said, that is not the way me and her made them. haha. his looked good. but we like our way better.

Rita's Roost and The Limping Old Farmer
Diary of Miz Rita and Mr. Terry
Februrary 4, 2026, We have been out working...Mr. Terry picked up a load of firewood yesterday. It had to be taken off the truck and stacked. That took "teamwork". He backed the truck as close to the house and the place where we put the wood to keep dry and to use. Then I started stacking it, my dear husband would use his long arms and reach the pieces I couldnt and toss it to where i could reach it.... to get it out the back of the truck, neither of us had to do any bending over....I had to make a few steps...not many.....Mr. Terry doesnt walk so good with his bad hip. Together we got it done.....we are ready for another winter storm.....which I hope never comes.
We have always worked pretty good together, and now after 45 years of working together, we still get the job done. only slower.

Rita's Roost and The Limping Old Farmer
Diary of Miz Rita and Mr. Terry. Janaury 26, 2026
Dear hubby sat down to eat his lunch...
Cut himself a big piece of hot cornbread, first thing he told me was
"This cornbread aint done in the middle". Well, I helped him cut some from the outside edge. He put that on his plate, slathered it was butter.....and I put the rest of the cornbread back in the oven to get it "done in the middle."

Rita's Roost and The Limping Old Farmer
January 25th, 2026...Diary of Rita's Roost and her husband The Limping Old Farmer.
My dear husband suggested that I put on a pot of white beans, make a pan of cornbread and even peel and fry some taters. Oh, and he even asked for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake.....Who does he think he is....Do you think I made him all those things.....I did not. Not the beans, or cornbread or the tators.....but cause I do kinda like him.....I made the Pineapple Upside Down Cake 🥰, The rest of his supper is fried chicken wings and a baked potato. He is not going to starve this cold night, and maybe if he asks tomorrow in a real nice way....I will put on a pot of beans.
