Upload activity has ceased on this channel for now. For Spanish uploads, see the 2nd channel, Cingo

This channel is mostly for uploading Military marches, hymns, Anthems, and sometimes miscellaneous music from around the world as an act to preserve history and make sure that they'll never end up as lost media.

My channel and the videos I make are for edutainment purposes only (or some times just entertainment) and I don't condone hate or violence against any ethnic group, nationality, culture, or religion. I also don't condone the actions of countries who's music I cover in my videos such as: Japan, The PRC, any communist country, or the four Republics of Korea, just to name a few

Hello people,

I may need to private all my videos to avoid problems with new policies in a couple days, if I want to keep this channel up and continue with future plans I have for this said channel. Or allow some videos to be public in the meantime, I do not know. I don't know what to do with these videos anymore, to be honest. No idea how long this will last, but I believe it's necessary to do so.

Information I found regarding this Gunka, a long time ago

The song is from a highschool called "Daiichi highschool" and the official name of the song is "The 11th Kiinen Matsuri Dormitory Song" (第11回紀念祭東寮寮歌) . It's about the anti-Chinese pogroms by Russian troops in 1900, during the Boxer Rebellion. There are many names to the incident because it's name has not been standardized: In China, the incident is called the "Gengzi Russian Disaster" (庚子俄難), in Russia, it's called the "Blagoveshchensk Massacre". The massacre also took place east of the Amur river, in 2 places, called "Blagoveshchensk" (a city) & the "Sixty-Four Villages", which comprised of Manchu, Daur, and Chinese people. It heighten tensions between all 3 nations, Japan had ambitions on Manchuria. The tension leading up to the Russo-Japanese War was incorporated into the lyrics.

The song is (maybe) one of the first iteration, or maybe the origin of that famous melody that's used in Hohei no Honryo. The song was published in 1901 while Hohei no Honryo was in 1911. I said before that the song's melody was ripped from another song called Shōnankō 「小楠公」 but I might be wrong on that. I still have no proof that it is or not, since recordings of Shōnankō don't have that classic melody but someone said that the song was based on "Kogusu-ko", I'm not sure if the song exist since the Japanese title was not listed. But on a Japanese site I've found says that Shōnankō is the origin of the melody, but I've yet to find a recording of that song with that melody.

By the time I'm writing this, I just realized that Kogusu-ko and Shōnankō are the same song, so I wasted my time writing this, but I still yet to find a recording. I found another song called Kusunoki no Uta (楠公の歌) which kinda does sound similar to the melody? but not a match
