IT'S HERE! After months of work (and countless ramen packets) InstantRamen.com is officially LIVE!
This project has been a total labor of love that evolved along the way. Initially, I wanted to create a resource focused on giving you ideas to level up your instant ramen game. But then I realized I needed to add a feature where people all over could contribute their honest opinions.
So now, the site is a mix of my tips and user-generated wisdom! Check out the key features:
Instant Ramen Reviews - This is where I give my quick take on ramens from around the globe.
Community Ratings - Your opinion shapes the database! Rate the Flavor, Noodle Quality, and Spice Level of every ramen we review. Not only does this help the community, but you can also keep a personal record of all your ratings right in your member profile.
Toppings Guide - We have a growing list of topping suggestions that are great for all kinds of ramen. Discover what to add, why it works, and what ramens they pair best with!
Level-Up Recipes - This is where I have all my leveled-up instant ramen recipes.
Don’t wait! Head to the link now to explore the site and register to save your favorites.
Finally, I want to give a huge thank you to the following people who helped bring this website to life:
Recipe Developer and Taste Tester: James Chang Branding: Jessica Nguyen Website Build: CultivateWP Photography: Anna Petrow Photography: Phon Wills
This is just the beginning! I still have countless instant ramens to try, toppings to add, and recipes to develop. I can't wait to share this journey with you all!
I’m currently in Japan and my first bowl of ramen was this Shoyu Ramen with a flying fish dashi base. The chef noticed I was watching him as he put everything together so he held everything up higher so I could see over the counter. There was a language barrier but he did his best to explain what every ingredient was.
I finished half of my ramen and he gave me a free bowl of rice. He showed me that I needed to add the rice to the broth to finish it all which I did. I looked at his English menu and told him I would be back for the Togarashi Ramen.
The next day I came back and again he showed me the process of making a ramen bowl. Before I left I took another look at the menu and he gave me his last English menu. I told him no, I wouldn’t take his last one, but he made me take it. So I insisted that he sign it lol.
Sorry for the long-winded post, but I just wanted to share my wonderful first experience having a bowl of ramen in Japan.
This was at Taikobo Ramen in Akiruno, Akigawa, Tokyo. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to stop by one more time before I leave.
Even though I’m a pretty guarded person, there’s something about being around Joanne that makes me feel safe to share my story. I’ve mentioned to her that I feel like a little part of my inner child has healed after each of our meetings. Thank you, Joanne, for allowing me to open up in this podcast and most importantly thank you for being my friend.
This is probably the loopiest I’ve ever been doing a spicy challenge. I took on the Paqui One Chip Challenge while @Jeanelleats did the Phoenix Spicy Beef Jerky. I’m not sure how we survived 😂 give it a watch and let me know what you think!
