Congratulations to the entire ISRO team on the successful launch of LVM3-CMS03! 🚀 The mission once again proves the reliability and versatility of the LVM3 launcher.
This sub-GTO approach, enabling the lift of a heavier satellite by optimizing fuel loading in the spacecraft to achieve its final orbit without compromising mission life, is a remarkable engineering achievement. 👏
Best wishes for CMS-03 as it’s manoeuvred to its orbital slot to begin delivering vital communication services soon! 🇮🇳✨
India’s Chandrayaan-2 observes effects of the Coronal Mass Ejections from the Sun on the Moon. First-ever observations showed an increase in the total pressure of the dayside environment of the Moon.
Very proud and happy to see Vikram 32 bit processor getting the limelight it deserves at #SemiconIndia2025. An example of true Atmanirbhartha. This is a new generation processor developed in ISRO with SCL 180 nm technology with in-house developed ADA compiler and toolsets and qualified for space use. The successful use in PSLV POEM platform was reassuring. SCL made Vikram processors are the backbone of OBC for all ISRO launch vehicles including Gaganyaan. #SomanathSpeak
“Chandrayaan-3, Vikram’s gentle landing—etched forever in memory. The control centre screens still glow with pride. A game-changing moment for India. Congratulations #ISRO on ‘National Space Day’! 🚀🇮🇳
Very happy to meet the retired ISRO fraternity at their annual gathering in Chennai, where stalwarts Sri R.V. Perumal (former Dir, LPSC), Sri K. Viswanathan (former DD, SDSC), Sri Kasi Viswanathan (LPSC) & Sri V. Manoharan (ASLV) were honoured. Their immense contributions to technology development & ISRO’s infrastructure have left a lasting legacy. I could sense the bonds, family connections, pride & love for the organisation among all. Personally, Sri Perumal & Sri Viswanathan were among my role models for technical mastery & commitment—delighted to see them active, reminiscing the past & equally curious about ISRO’s present journey.
The 12m radar antenna reflector of #NISAR is now fully ‘bloom’. Congratulations to NASA JPL & ISRO on this tremendous milestone!
The systematic deployment—driven by multiple motor actuators & intricate cabling—faced many challenges. Some of the challenges involved were thermal behavior of composite structures which was critical for the opening process. Understanding and ensuring safe deployment was one of the reason for the delay of launch in 2024.
Delighted to see this complex step completed safely. Next: payload tests & calibrations in the weeks ahead. A giant leap for Earth observation!
Very good analysis of the present situation and its impact on space sector. Both public funded and private space activities must be part of this strategic integration and state’s oversight.
Need strategic autonomy in critical technologies and elements that goes into big programs. High end Electronics, sensors, critical materials, especially alloying elements, carbon fibre, certain devices, manufacturing capability in scale are important for space sector.
Let us make a check list and act on each of them to build through our institutions and industries. We need to showcase products developed here rather than assembled ones with kits coming from unproven sources.
Remembering the 106th birth anniversary of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai — the visionary who built institutions in space, atomic energy, management, textiles & arts. A true nation builder whos contributions continues to inspire us. Though I never met him, his legacy shaped our journey at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre since the 80s.
Witnessed the 13th convocation of IIST, Thiruvananthapuram — founded by Department of Space to address the need of aerospace professionals for India’s space and allied sectors, now a prestigious national institution. Proud to see its growth: building & launching own spacecrafts, space bio experiments on ISS, collaborative research more PhDs. Alumni shine in ISRO, space startups & as entrepreneurs. Dr. BN Suresh (Chancellor), Prof. Suman Chakravarty, Director IIT Kharagpur (Chief Guest), Dr. Dipankar Banerjee (VC) were on the Dias and Dr. V Narayanan in virtual presence. As a former Director of IIST myself, was happy to be in the company of Dr. Dasgupta, Dr. Sam Dayaladev & Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair.
Congratulations Skyroot Aerospace on the successful static test of the Vikram-1 first stage solid booster! Featuring a monolithic composite case & submerged flex nozzle with electromechanical actuators.
Very commendable accomplishment- a major step towards the launch of Vikram-1. Kudos to ISRO for propellant processing & test support.
