To hit a Band 7+ in IELTS Writing, you need to show variety in your sentence structures. Using "Negative Inversion" is a great way to demonstrate high-level grammatical range.



✅ Correct Answer: *B) Rarely have students seen feedback.

Why? When a sentence begins with a *negative adverb* like rarely, seldom, never, academic English requires *inversion*:


Rarely + auxiliary verb + subject + past participle



❌ Why the others are wrong

*A) Rarely students have seen feedback.*
Missing inversion → should be have students.

*C) Rarely do students have seen feedback.*
Wrong mix of structures → cannot use do with have seen.

*D) Students rarely have seen feedback.*
Not wrong, but not formal enough; the question tests inversion, so *B* fits best.
