Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal – Complete Guide

Location and Overview
The trek is located in the Gorkha District of Nepal, bordering Tibet. It follows ancient trade routes through the Budi Gandaki Valley, passes traditional Gurung and Tibetan villages, and crosses the challenging Larke La Pass (5,106 m). The region remains less commercialized than other trekking areas, giving trekkers a more authentic Himalayan experience.
Trekking Permits Required
The Manaslu region is a restricted area. Trekkers must have:
Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP)
Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
Independent trekking is not allowed. A minimum of two trekkers with a licensed guide is mandatory.
Standard Itinerary (12–14 Days)
The common route starts in Soti Khola and ends in Dharapani, linking with the Annapurna Circuit. A typical 14-day itinerary includes:
