Last Friday, I joined the London Business School Nigeria Alumni Worldwide Celebration, themed “Africa’s Builders: What it takes to start, grow and scale.”

Beyond the keynote by Mr. Bolaji Balogun and a rich panel anchored by Rolake Akinkugbe, the event reminded me of my younger self — eager to grow my network and meet really smart people. I’ve always believed: if you’re the smartest in the room, it’s time to find a new room.

Networking isn’t only about job hunting. The right rooms change everything.
